SHANGHAIED [March 30, 2025]

When JT "Shanghaied" me early on to cue up his birthday gift the other morning [view here: https://youtu.be/fUwG7Z2bHyc], our twin tabby cats immediately took an unusual interest in the sights and sounds on our set. Zimi [L] and Iggi [R] are often rapt if we're viewing a nature program with birds and squirrels of course, but this was the first time to show interest in a regular animated music video. Perhaps they recognized the voice singing out to them as that of their "mom," and maybe Iggi was trying to climb into the screen to reach me? 🤷‍♂️ Whatever the cause, it certainly provided a birthday bonus to further make me beam! 😁 (Kiitos, sweetos!)

Up to Me

Mar 25, 2018: Maybe this is a straightforward "he done her wrong" song. Maybe I wrote and sing it from the FLOTUS' POV and might have subtitled it "Make Melania Great Again Blues." [UPDATE on that score: Turns out there's no way to make Melania great again as, clearly, she never was all that much.]  Maybe it's a wider metaphor for how our nation's no.1 confidence man has sold our national pride for personal gain and has dried up the dreams of too many, making it clear we must VOTE him GONE along with his enablers in Congress to bring back the best in US. I leave it up to you.
