It's voodoo/root work witchery. There's a small town with a bit of a curse, bit of a history. LGBT leads included, great cast, some sound effects.
Short series no spoilers but there's a guy on a ship and things are weird, a monster? A pet dog? He should be doing his normal duties but odd things keep occurring and his memory is foggy. Body horror warning.
Spooked by snap judgement I'm sure you know if you listen to podcasts. It's Glenn Washington host extrodinare, he opens with a personal anecdote and a person shares a real scary story. As in something that really happened that ranges from creepy to legit scary to heartwarming but still supernatural.
Custom art per each episode (this one is about Monterey Bay Aquarium). I post this year of all years because they have dropped the paywall they used to have. That's eight seasons. It's good because it's just regular people giving their probably once in a lifetime ghost tale.
