The Walk

As I started my long, treacherous walk from my car and into the comforts of my air conditioned house, I battled the pesky mosquitoes, the unforgiving wasps, and the lurking Houston heat that always clings to the skin. Oh how I dreaded this five feet walk into my house. The sun endlessly beaming its fatal rays upon this poor girl, the clouds not present to shield me from the sun, the air still and heavy. Opening the gates of my home came a cool breeze.
