Scar/Jet tiny human fluffs for damnitmalz and because it’s still Mother’s Day when I’m starting this blasted thing. PG-ish.

She’s exhausted by the time their daughter finally enters the world, but she’s never known tiredness could be this sweet.

The little ball of human the midwife places in Scarlett’s arms has her father’s searching eyes and both her parents’ frizzy hair. She’s a shade of red she will hopefully never be again, and her voice is a piercing yowl. She’s perfect.

“We did this,” Scar breathes, closing her eyes for a brief moment. “We did this.”

“You did this,” Jet corrects.

“Shut up, half her generic material is yours, and you were... god, baby, the things I made you do...”

“Pregnant women are like that. At least you didn’t intentionally hit me...”

“If you’re talking about the stories we heard about Cherry, Ghoul completely deserved that. I know he’s your idiot too, which means he’s like family, but liking family is optional.”

“He did deserve it,” Jet nods. “You were still way less scary.”

“Me, less scary than someone?” Scar laughs. “I’m losing my touch.”

“You’re too cute to be scary.”

“Love you too,” she mutters. “You wanna unbutton my shirt so the little monkey can feed?”

He obliges, pushing aside the now-unnecessary fabric. “We’re not calling her the monkey, Scar.”

“But what if she decides that’s what she wants her name to be?”

“Then that’s her conscious choice when she gets to it. For now, her name is not Monkey.”

“You’re boring, baby.” Scarlett’s quiet for a few moments, thinking through names she knows. “How do you feel about Milo?”

“It’s an improvement?” Jet mutters. “I was thinking Sunny would be cute.”

“Sunny,” Scar repeats. “I like that. We don’t know anyone who goes by that, do we?”

“No one comes to mind.”

“Good.” Scarlett looks down at her little daughter. “Heyya Sunny. You’re in this big bad world now, but you’ve got people. You’ve got your daddy, always, he’s a good brave man. An’ you’ve got me. I think you’re gonna be just fine.”

damnitmalz is responsible for the ship that saved my life. Srsly. We were on this RP site ages ago and one of the key points of my character was that she had a major epic crush on Malz’s character. Over four years later, we still cry about them on the regular. They were just that good, and writing them got me through more bad nights than anything else I did. (I might be about to write a tiny-human drabble of them because my feelings are high right now, yaaaaay.) Malz is tiny, feisty, and has one of the cutest voices I’ve ever heard. We went through hell together, and *I* am not going anywhere.
