Can I request headcanons for Kei and his ajin!s/o, where s/o joins Satou (without realizing that Satou intentionally let government take Kei, of course)? So they kind of have to fight each other? Thank you :))
Sorry if this got kinda long, I got carried away.ᕙ(⇀‸↼‶)ᕗ
Nagai Kei is at a complete loss, of course. His beloved s/o was, in fact, now one of his greatest enemies. It was either to lose to them and let the world go in chaos or to defeat them and watch them burn in flames.
They were toxic to each other, staying with each other only caused more harm in their relationship no matter how much they loved each other.
His s/o was unaware of this, and the situation where Satou had planned to make Kei despise humans. (By intentionally allowing the government to take Kei.)
After realising they were both on different pages, they broke off contact - painfully.
On the battlefield itself, Kei finds it hard to fight against his s/o, though he tries not to let his emotions get the better of him. Because he didn’t want to go through the similar circumstances as his dad did.
But he failed to do so. When faced with his s/o, he instantly drops his gun - which is completely unusual of Kei. But his s/o was different.
Even if it was his s/o who betrayed him, he wouldn’t give a damn. Because to him, it’s okay because it was them and not anyone else.
However, on a twist of events, his s/o would take a chance and betray Satou instead. Even if it meant putting their life on the line. (They were Ajin, after all. It depends on how one defines death.)
They would attempt to escape together, away from this mess. But one of Kei’s allies takes down his s/o without hesitation, separating the both of them.
Some could say they were indeed made for each other but met each other at the wrong time. But I’d say that they were like the sun and moon. Even if God made them to be perfect for each other, they couldn’t be together. And because of that, one had to sacrifice for the other. Which in this case, was the sun. “The sun, loving the moon so much, died every night just to let her breathe.” They said. Nagai Kei and his s/o were made for each other, but they were too toxic for each other as well. Just like the sun and moon, his s/o gave in because they loved Kei enough to do so.
