Where do I even start with that trash as series finale?

Everything was so rushed.

I must admit, I didn't watch a lick of the season after 3ep01. I only followed along on social media and I'm so glad I did. I knew it was gonna be trash and it was indeed trash. They pretty much ruined every single character. How is that even possible?

Simone, the literal lead got cancer? Like they didn't see any other interesting storyline other than piling on more trauma for the girl. Then you end the finale without us actually seeing her play the biggest game of her life yet. Trash.

Couldn't even let her be happy in a relationship. And even when she and Damon broke up, you then replaced him with this other dude out of convenience to attach her to another love story when they could have just let her be. We could have seen her get involved in other things that make her Simone. Did we see much of her in sorority? I feel like I still barely know this person even after 3 seasons. It's always about some boy with a dash of tennis. Must she have a boy by her side at all times? Then it had to be someone who was without his own agency. I know nothing about this dude either. It pretty much felt like it was a situation where, because Damon was not available, let's get her with this other dude that's available. She chose Damon when she had all the options in the world. She always gravitated towards him even when she was still married to Jordan, and when this rebound dude came into the picture. She always chose Damon. But then how convenient that the only way she could be with this dude is when Damon was not available. Rubbish. Make it make sense. It would have been more believable if she ended the season single.

The Damon build-up was all for nothing? Their story was being told from the beginning. It carried weight. The least it deserved was a satisfying end/break up that showed you cared and respected the characters.

I'm all for fan service, but when the fan service is at the expense of the story being told and doesn't make sense, then you should reevaluate.

I really don't understand. You can't write a character as important and integral to a show like Damon, you develop him only to pretty much erase him and his presence. Then when he finally shows up for the finale, you make her shun him like they didn't spend 2 seasons building up not just a relationship for them, but their friendship.

It's funny how, in spite of all that shite in his absence, the 2 episodes he had, his character was still elevated above everyone else's whether it was intentional or not. You can't help but write him with importance.

In my opinion, his character had the best ending and if you really think about it, the best overall arc. Everything he wanted to achieve when we were introduced to his character in the backdoor pilot, he achieved them and more. Growth 🤌🏾

So why would a lead character like Simone end up with someone else who wasn't equally as important.

Anyways, it's over. Sad that a show that started out with so much promise ended that way.

All American Homecoming Season 3 thoughts so far:

First off this season feels like a completely different show and due to all the budget cuts/cast reductions the writing is suffering. It feels like with the exception of Simone, Jr, and Keisha, everyone else is in and out of episodes, which makes the season feel disjoined. All the cast is rarely ever in the same episode lol. It also feels like nothing is really happening this season other than the cancer storyline and the relationship drama between Cam/Keisha and JR/Gabby. Damon and Amara’s characters basically being gone from the show this season truly caused the writers to not know what to write about. The only reason I’m still watching at this point is to see when Damon comes back and to see if him and Simone will rekindle. I also want to see how Simone’s story gets wrapped up.

“I’ll take care of you.”

Her voice was a gentle breeze during the autumn morning. Quiet and gentle as it whisked through the atmosphere. Her words tickled his ears and captured his attention with a quickness he’d never known before.

The corners of his mouth twitched as his need for self control increased, and his imagination ran rampant. Suddenly, his gentleman-like thoughts shifted to those of a more animalistic version of himself he chose to keep hidden.

His eyes searched hers—boats of caramel cream sailing calm seas of chocolate delight. They glistened with a desire he’d began to notice more frequently. He would accept all that she was willing to give.

“You will?” he said after some time. Soft melodies of an R&B artist set the mood. His hands, which were tucked behind his head, found a new home on her hips. Her thighs clenched around his waist at the action and he took note of her reaction. Her hips, shown through entryways from her low-rise sweatpants and cropped shirt, were massaged my his coarse thumbs.

“Take off your shirt and lay on your stomach.” Ayana climbed off his body, much to his dismay. He obeyed her command and peeled his maroon training shirt off his body. His head rested on my arms as he awaited further instruction.

Soon, the comfortable pressure on his body returned. Gentle hands palmed his back. He flinched under her touch. The pads of her fingertips prodded every bump, ridge, and divot on his neck, starter from his shoulders down to the small of his neck. Damon released a soft groan at the feeling.

She smiled softly and began to kneed his taut skin gently. With every pass of her hand, the tension released little by little. Damon’s head lulled to the side as her touch eased his tense body.

Her hands danced across his strong shoulders, along his arms, and down his back until she reached his torso. She pressed her thumps into the dimples of his back and giggled at his soft sounds.

“Do you want me to keep going?”she asked after some time. His yes was muffled. However, he turned onto his back and tucked his hands behind his head, “continue.”

Ayana raised an eyebrow as she caught his mischievous smile, but anything for him. Again, she continued. Only this time, he walks crumbled quicker.

He was done for when her hands slid down his chest and stomach, and danced along the peaking waistline of his underwear. His leg jumped beneath her.

“You okay?” she asked after some time.

“Yeah, baby, I’m fine,” he replied. The self-control was slipping from his fingertips and he didn’t know how much longer he could take it. She could see it, though. From his lack of eye contact to the clenching of his fists behind his head.

Noticing this, she lowered her head so her lips came in contact with his neck. She kissed and nipped gently, humming quietly as she ingested the sweet taste of his skin. Damon released a shaky breath.

Her hand trailed his chest and rested against his neck. Gently, she turned his head to further her assault. Large hands cupped her bottom and squeezed gently.

“Ayana, baby…”

“Let me take care of you,” she whispered, biting along the shell of his ear. “I got you.”
