March is Start of The “New Year”
Spring is a time of rebirth and revival, full of new possibilities. Almost every culture, past and present, has some sort of ritual to celebrate the promise and fertility of spring.
March 20, 2012, at precisely 1:14 a.m. the sun will cross directly over the Earth's equator. This moment is known as the vernal equinox (from the Latin vernare, to bloom) in the Northern Hemisphere. In the Southern Hemisphere, this is the moment of the autumnal equinox.
Translated literally, equinox means "equal night." Because the sun is positioned above the equator, day and night are about equal in length all over the world during the equinoxes. In many cultures this is a time for rituals of balance and new beginnings, and even marks the beginning of the year itself.
Starting March 23-25 began (3) days of prayer and contemplation!
In this song, the psalmist celebrates God’s love, provision, protection, and mercy. No matter what enemies come against us, no matter what sins mar our daily victory, God is sovereign. He has made this day, and each day. And we rejoice knowing that He is present and faithful, no matter what the day brings.
Lord, I begin this new day celebrating Your love. You have been good to me, and I rejoice that You have given me this new day. When I stumble, help me to turn back to You. When I am pressed by stress and conflict, be my place of refuge. May nothing rob me of the joy of knowing that this day is Yours. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Colossians 4 (Instructions)
2 Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. 3 And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. 4 Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should. 5 Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. 6 Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.
Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. (1 Pet. 3:18)
When we are in Christ, we live a life of winning – no matter what. When we are alive, it is for the benefit of those around us as we continue to minister to them. When we die, it is still gain because we are simply returning to our heavenly home.
Luke 21:34-36
35 For it will come upon all who dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36 But stay awake at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.”
Proverbs 22:6: "Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it. Happy Father’s Day Men
