Do a activated abilities like Avatar of Woe and Lux Cannon make you sad?
Damping Matrix is a more budget/more friendly version of Stony Silence, reason being you still allow your opponents mana rocks/mana dorks to function as usual.
There’s a wide array of commanders that are halted by Damping Matrix: Gisa, Erebos, Ghave, Mayael, Slobad, Marath, Prossh, and Zedruu to name a few.
Damping Matrix is also effective against artifact decks that rely on their activated abilities, like Daretti or most Esper combo decks.
Damping Matrix’s colorless lets you throw this control card in any deck, making a solid edition to any referee control or just about any control deck.
