An exclusive Easter extract for Guardian Books
As a Czech person, I had to laugh when I read a sample of Dan Brown's Secret of Secrets, and came across a description of an American researcher of paranormal phenomena being invited to give a lecture not at the CUNI Faculty of Science, not at the Faculty of Arts, not at the Karolinum, but in the honest-to-God Vladislavský sál. You know, the place where state awards are awarded, the president gets sworn in and so on.
I mean, it is possible to rent the hall for non-state occasions. But it's expensive as hell, and I doubt Charles University would spend millions on behalf of a single foreign lecturer.
Credit where credit is due though, I have to compliment Brown's fairly solid use of Czech swearwords. We stan capt. Oldřich Janáček yelling "Hovadina!" at Langdon's flimsy-ahh alibi, quickly followed by "JEŠTĚ VĚTŠÍ HOVADINA!"

Angels & Demons (2009)
When a question has no correct answer, there is only one honest response. The gray area between yes and no. Silence.
Dan Brown, The Da Vinci Code
