-----------------------------------------------------------
Dan likes his coffee black, one cup before breakfast and another after dinner if he’s pulling an all nighter. He likes orange juice with breakfast, and for breakfast to be yogurt with fruit. He likes matching pajama sets, which is the dorkiest thing Jaekyung has ever heard. But when he comes padding into the kitchen and beelines for the coffee maker, stretching onto his tip toes to get a mug down, hair ruffled, eyes half closed, the dark blue and grey stripes wrinkled from good sleep, Jaekyung can’t help the funny thing that happens in his chest.
Kim Dan can’t stand ramen. It was always the cheapest food option available for him before he moved in with Jaekyung, so he ate it enough that the smell of certain brands gave him a headache instantly. When Jaekyung took him to Insaeng Hanwoo to celebrate after a match, Dan acted like everything in the restaurant was going to cost enough to put them both out of house and home. Dan hated spending money on himself, and moreso, he didn’t know how. He transitioned from his grandmother supporting him and barely taking care of herself to doing the same for her, so a person like Jaekyung who spent with both hands and got returns 10 fold was completely foreign. The better he got to know him, Jaekyung understood why Dan was in the predicament he was when they met.
What he didn’t understand was why he chose to work 4 dead-end jobs instead of working in what he went to medical school and got into debt with the mob for, but Dan clammed up about that worse than when he was avoiding Jaekyung. He also didn’t understand why he demanded Jaekyung take him to the same hospital Jaekyung went to for his checkups instead of the bigger hospital with shorter wait times. The way he clutched Jaekyungs forearm, fingernails almost breaking skin like he had threatened to crash the car with them both inside.
Dan liked TV dramas where both romantic leads had lives outside of their relationship, and ones where the asshole guy had to grovel for the girl to give him a chance. An appreciation he apparently learned from his grandmother. Dan had been more than a little wine drunk when he revealed that to Jaekyung, and the fighter waited with bated breath for him to realize what he just said and get embarrassed at the implications of their own relationship, but he never did. He also didn’t seem to understand why, later that night, Jaekyung had pinned his chest down with one hand on his sternum and worked him over with his mouth and fingers for almost an hour, until he had come three times and was shaky and teary with overstimulation.
As he looked down at Dan, face red, lips bloody from biting them, tear tracks tracing down into his hairline, Jaekyung wondered if Dan accepted, or even understood this as his version of repentance. He can’t get down on his knees and beg for forgiveness. His pride, his past, his reputation act like splints that keep him looming over the man, no matter how much he knows he deserves Hollywood-level grand gesture after gesture to make up for the things he went through because of Jaekyung.
So he repented in his own way. He made sure they always had his favorite food stocked. He signed up for a service that delivers imperfect produce for cheap to avoid it being wasted, assuming his saint of a boyfriend would appreciate both the healthy food and the lack of spoil, which he wholeheartedly did. He bought him a few sets of real silk pajamas, and insisted he actually wear them instead of leaving them in the closet for fear of ‘ruining’ them. He scheduled weekend visits with Granny twice a month, and got them set up so they could project the newest episodes of their favorite dramas onto the wall of the cafeteria, so the other patients could watch along with them.
Dan still cooked breakfast most days, mainly because now that they were sharing a bed, Dan woke first while Jaekyung made up for a decade of lost sleep, so he had time to while also packing their lunches. But Jaekyung tried to split dinners evenly between them, even learning new recipes, since he knew other people couldn’t eat the same thing every day without losing it.
It was weird. Dan had less relationship experience than Jaekyung did, and there was so much that they had to feel out on their own, and with the help of more than a few google searches. Jaekyung figured out that Dan was solitary because he was too polite, never dropping formalities no matter how long he knew someone, in fear of being rude, but ended up keeping them at arms length instead. It was interesting, how they ended up in the same boat, (alone save for those they worked with) for such drastically different reasons.
Jaekyung made sure Dan had friends. They went in to the gym together every morning, and left together every night. If the other fighters were having a night out, or another event, Jaekyung would drop him off, demanding he keeps his phone on him and on, but otherwise letting him enjoy their company. He bit his tongue when Dan helped them stretch and recover, maybe grabbing his hand and holding it under his on the gear shift on the way home if he was finding that too difficult. He bought Dan a video game, one that looked right up his alley, where you control a cute sock puppet to navigate terrain, and watched as he played, eyebrows furrowed, tongue between his teeth, until he hauled them both off to bed. He subscribed to medical magazines, and half-listened as Dan spouted out interesting tidbits while he read them over breakfast.
He watched as Dan gained weight, going from 60 kgs to a much less concerning 68, making sure to take him shopping regularly so he always had scrubs and plain clothes that fit comfortably.
And as much as it pained him, he tried to file down his own fangs. He started keeping lube in his car, shower, gym bag, the nightstand of both the master bedroom and the hostel he bought for when they visited Granny and, much to Dan’s embarrassment, the kitchen, hidden in an empty tea tin they left on the counter. He agreed to treat the weekends with Granny as his rest days, only jogging in the morning, and maybe swimming in the ocean if the weather was right. He stopped lashing out at the guys at the gym so much, and bought ‘thank you’ gifts for all the managers and trainers. He read books, got back into watching sports and paid attention to the news, so he and Dan actually had things to talk about.
Most importantly, he started paying some goddamn attention. He noticed when Dan wasn’t eating, and asked about it. He watched his face closely as he talked, looking beyond the words to figure out what he really meant. He prompted him when he looked like he had something to say, and shut up when he looked like he didn’t want to. He realized Dan didn’t have any hobbies, by nature of never having the time or money, and forced him to do something about it. Remembering his love of board games, he found board game clubs (for adults) nearby and signed him up without a second thought. He suggested Dan do health analysis and recommendations for the other gym members, and stopped him from overdoing it on research.
He put Kim Dan first, where he always, at least subconsciously, know he deserved.
Sinful Needs
In his lifetime, Jaekyung Joo found that he never had to wait around for people to throw themselves at him. He considered everything about himself to be worthy of others being jealous, something that fed his inflated ego like no other. As one of the top Alphas born in his entire family dynasty, there was nothing that he was left wanting for.
He was his father’s pride and joy, allowing him the mercy and grace to get away with what others couldn’t. Even now, standing on the top floor in the highest, richest penthouse in the city, he knew how lucky he was for being born to the pure family he was.
“Young Master, the guests have arrived.”
Turning, Jaekyung stared at the servant who trembled where he stood. He raised an eyebrow, a smirk pulling at his lips as he strolled forward. Stopping right next to the servant, he bent over, a hand caressing the firm backside. Omegan fear assaulted his nose, a wave of arousal flooding into his pants.
This.
This is what he lived for. The utter terror that radiated through this little Omega just from being in his presence was absolutely divine. If he had the time, Jaekyung would have tossed this simpleton on the ground, mounting his lithe body like the beast he truly was. The thought made him gnash his teeth together in his mouth, drool threatening to fall from his ruby lips.
“Hmm…” Letting his hot breath caress the servant’s ear, he let his free hand come up and grip the dark curls atop his head. “Make sure to be in my bed by the time I return to this room.”
Yanking the servant into a standing position, he tugged the hair so hard that the Omega fell onto his back on the floor. The Alpha scoffed, walking by the terrified form that looked oh so pitiful laying there, his smirk taking on a more devious form. Once he was in the elevator, he pressed the ground floor button and leaned against the wall, taking a few breaths to calm his throbbing cock.
Brushing his hair from his handsome face, he pushed away from the small space when the elevator opened and walked towards the grand ballroom, where his father had all their guests rounded up. The old man had thrown a party, wanting to celebrate his prized son stepping up and closing a deal that made him millions.
As he drew closer to the door, he could hear loud talking and feminine, high pitched giggles already grating on his nerves. Standing at the closed doors, Jaekyung grunted before pushing them open, letting the room’s bright lights shine on his face. Throwing a charming look on his face, he entered, watching as people made a path for him directly into the center of the room.
The Alpha shoved his hands in his pockets, stepping right up to his father. He was quickly pulled into a hug, feeling the gun in his coat pocket press against his body. His own father’s gun could be felt through the old man’s jacket, a protection measure for the both of them.
“Jaekyung, my perfect boy!”
He greeted his father in the same manner, mind immediately going off into a tangent as he looked around. He took in all the guards that stood at windows and doors, all the servants that scrambled around to serve everyone and sighed. Some of the Omegas and Betas were openly staring at him, cleavage and lustful eyes thrown his way even from afar.
Moving to stand slightly behind his father, Jaekyung crossed his arms over his shoulder and took in the entire scene before him.
“How long do I ha–”
He was immediately interrupted by a body thrown into his own, dishes rattling as they clattered to the floor. Fury consumed him almost instantly, and he whirled around at the wetness that leaked into his expensive, name brand suit. His hand snapped out, the sound of flesh meeting flesh echoing in the now silent room.
In front of him, a tiny figure laid out on the ground, holding his face with his hands. Brown hair framed a perfectly innocent, pretty face, equally brown eyes filled with tears. A bruise was already forming on a flushed cheek, and the Alpha watched as a singular teardrop slid down into where thin fingers held his flesh.
A sudden stirring in his gut had Jaekyung pausing, his hand raised in a fist at his head. The scent wafting into his nose was that of a terrified Omega, but something about it was so different. Tears normally did nothing for him, but seeing them slide down this unnaturally pretty face did something to him that made his heart wrench…
But not out of pity.
His cock was perfectly stiff, aching in his pants from the intense arousal that filled him. Everyone in the room could smell it, shifting in their spots as they reacted. Mouth suddenly dry, he could only stand there and stare at the Omega.
“You piece of fucking shit! How dare you ruin the Young Master’s suit!”
One of his father’s guards stepped forward, reaching into his suit to grab his gun in anger. The people around looked on in pity, not stepping in to help the poor fellow on the ground. The pretty servant only coward further, scrunching his eyes up when the gun appeared right in front of his face.
Jaekyung stared for a moment, watching the proceedings and feeling irritation flow through his body. With a movement quicker than what should have been humanly possible, he snapped his hand into the guard’s face, sending him flying back a few feet. An audible gasp filled the room, some of the surrounding people backing away from the bloodied guard.
“Y-Young Master!!”
The guard stared up at his master in shock, cupping his gushing nose and mouth. The Alpha had probably busted a few of his teeth, though in his rage, he felt nothing. Jaekyung stared down at the man, ready to give another beating for interrupting his gazing when a small hand enshrouded his.
Looking down, he watched with a blank face as the pretty Omega cupped his wounded hand, staring at the bruised and shredded knuckles. The brown haired head was bowed, forehead touching his hand as if in reverence.
“I-I’m so sorry!”
If it had been possible to become even harder than he already was, he would have. The fucking voice on this Omega was absolutely delicious, something that shocked him. He couldn’t stop himself from imagining the moans and whimpers that came with the pains and pleasures of being fucked by a real man.
Ripping his hand away, he grabbed the servant by the throat, lifting him up until they were at eye level. The size difference between them was so great that the Omega was left suspended in the air, feet dangling as the enormous hand engulfed his spasming neck. Jaekyung knew the servant couldn’t breath, but that only fed into the insane amount of arousal leaking from his body and scent.
“Tsk. You’ve made such a fucking mess of everything. Has no one taught you basic manners, Omega?”
Small hands wrapped around his wrist, pulling and squeezing as the pretty face turned red. Staring only for a moment longer, the Alpha dropped the lithe body onto the ground, watching as he rolled onto all fours to hack and cough. The position gave him a grand view of the Omega, seeing that he was much thicker than he originally looked.
Turning, he gazed at the guards who all stood, ready to step in at a moment’s need. His father stared with a contemplative look on his face, eyes flitting from his son to the recovering figure on the ground.
“I’ll take it from here. Kid’s just earned himself a debt to pay off.”
Jaekyung’s voice left no room for arguments as he began to walk away. He had only taken a few steps when he paused, cocking his head without turning. He could feel that the Omega wasn’t following, pissing him off to unprecedented levels.
“Did you hear me, kid?”
His head turned, the Omega only able to see the side profile that clearly glared at him. The Alpha looked even more menacing, radiating power and fury more than the most vicious of hurricanes.
“I said you’ve got a fucking debt to pay, so get off your fucking ass and let’s go.”
There was no way the servant would have been able to deny such a strong Alpha command. Jaekyung watched as the pretty male stood and slowly walked closer, seeming to be more frightened than he had ever seen a person be.
He turned, strolling towards the room entry and walked out, hearing the servant scramble to keep up with his large steps. It was quiet, not a word exchanged between them. The Alpha walked without a care in the world towards his elevator, waiting for the Omega to enter before they rode up to his private quarters.
They both entered, Jaekyung leading the way through the living room towards his bedroom. He stopped outside the door, feeling the servant come up behind him. Tossing a smirk over his shoulder, he jerked his head towards the door.
“Get in there, Omega.”

Here to promote that I've been reading thirsty manwha bl in front of my friends, fans, family and folks at home.
I think fortune is a fitting theme for Kim Dan's and Joo Jaekyung's dynamic. While the present seems bright for the fighter, behind of him lurks a problem he refuses to acknowledge, so it never goes away.
Dr Dan's present seems to be dark and full of trouble, but what he has always been, his good deeds and good heart will probably be there to catch him up when the time comes.
Because it will come, fortune is fleeting and will soon turn them both upside down.
So basically this Jinx fanart was for this year's Inktober.
A lost, lonely Templar on her way back to the garden after a disastrous mission. But no matter how hard she tries, she can't seem to find her way back. She picks up a defective Haremhorn cast out from her herd because her horns and hair won't stop growing.
A non-canon character insert set in Dan Kim’s "My Shut-in Vampire Princess Bride" comic world. His world-building is amazing, so it's difficult to not see stories untold unfold in your mind. :3
