So tonight hit the pub with the film crew, after a quick watch of "Rust & Bone" in the local arthouse cinema we popped into the bar next door "The Storytellers" somewhere I'd been meaning to pop into for a while.
I'm quite enjoying being sober in pubs at the moment, doesn't feel odd these days to order a coffee at the bar, although I was in a rough pub the other night and it was strange to be ducking and diving out the way of fisticuffs and hurled pint glasses whilst trying to balance my doblé Espresso in hand. Tonight, the film crew were a bit dubious on walk-in to Storytellers as it's in a part of town with a bit of a rough image (it used to be the old strip club) and the plethora of bouncers outside enhanced that image. At the end of the day, they've got a good bouncer team at Storytellers and they want to keep a cool non-pint-throwing crowd. TBH they're doing a bang up job! Loved Storytellers. Highly reccomend it! My play Staggered is on at The Arc Theatre next door in April and I imagine Storytellers will be a bit of a base for audience, crew and performers alike!
