I’ve been seeing a lot of people talking about accepting Orthodox Jews recently. And while I’m very happy that we’re getting some positive attention for once. I’ve noticed a lot of peoples arguments for why Orthodox (they really mean modern orthodox) Jews are cool is that they’re “not like ultra-orthodox Jews”. So here’s your reminder that if you don’t accept Jews you consider “too orthodox” then you don’t accept Orthodox Jews period.

Looking back at a Haredi comic book we've had since I was a child, its treatment of black and native American characters is... Weird. I don't think it's straight up racist, but it's somewhere around "noble savages" at best.

Its historical accuracy in general is a bit iffy, but I do think it makes an effort. It still has problems.

I always assumed it meant Ḥaredi, for some reason, which is why I don't consider myself Frum. But sometimes it seems people use it as a term for Orthodox Jews in general?
