Old-school media types like to complain about how basement dwellers don’t know the truth about pro sports, because they don’t go in locker rooms. I think this is actually backward. When you aren’t in the locker room, it’s easier to type the truth. The truth was many of these mistakes were hideous, and should probably be criticized with the hot righteous disdain of a million Cowherds. But that’s a much less appealing choice when you see the pain first-hand. So here I am, wanting to give a kid a hug.
