These beautiful sandwiches are nothing short of a masterpiece. They combine buttery toasted English muffins, Sargento® Sliced Baby Swiss Cheese, smoky Canadian bacon, asparagus spears and a perfectly poached egg and Hollandaise sauce on top for that classic eggs Benedict flavor.
In Ryan’s Level 3 Pop’n Sweet Cafe story, he and MC order Eggs Benedict at a restaurant. He orders his with bacon while MC’s has salmon. The story describes Eggs Benedict as having round cheese, halved English muffin, and Hollandaise sauce (with lemon juice) which is uh, surprise, what eggs Eenedict is... Â
Except it was so difficult to find a recipe that had bacon AND cheese - much less round cheese as described. Apparently putting cheese on your Eggs Benny is a debated topic in the food blogging world, so I was happy to find this recipe even if it did add some unmentioned ingredients.
I think the Swiss used in the recipe linked above is supposed to complement the asparagus, but I am sure you can use whatever cheese and whatever additional ingredient you would like, if any. Now this recipe also gets a little extra and makes it in a panini maker, but I’m sure you could adapt it for a more traditional approach.
For a recipe with salmon instead of bacon, I found this one by Dairy Goodness that has sliced Brie cheese. Â Again, it adds a little bit more than was specified in the story, but I think it will still be good since I also had similar difficulty finding this one as I did with the bacon.
