LITERALLY THE SAME EXACT PICTURE WTF
Thursday, July 18: Tesseract, "Hexes"
Dan Tompkins’ return to Tesseract gave the band a nice boost of favorable publicity and recentered the band, so even if Polaris wasn’t a radical departure from anything else they’d done, it still felt like a natural homecoming of sorts. And “Hexes” was perhaps the most intuitive thing they could’ve done: Tompkins both floated and soared above the djent with his hymnlike vocals, while the music felt atmospheric even with the jagged riffing and prog drumming. Only Tesseract could deliver something this hyper-technical and still have it largely play like a vibe.
Seductive Dan Tompkins

When people hear music, they hear it-, you know, new music at a particular moment, in their own life and they attach certain emotions to that music and memories, and it forms part of their identity in a way.
