Wow, the video you just reblogged is amazing! If you don't mind me asking, what show was it from and who is that woman?! She has sick dancing skills, that was awesome.

That was from the seminal The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air episode in which Aunt Viv has a freak out upon turning 40 about how she quit dancing after getting married and decides to GO BACK! But then the people in the class are mean to her because she's out of practice and older, so she takes lots and lots of other lessons and then goes back for an audition as shown.

Wowzers! I just tripped over your Irene/Eugenides picture, and I just wanted to leave you a note to let you know how much I think of it!! I don't see a whole lot of "Thief" art, and that's just a super sweet portrayal of that scene. Love your art, love your blog!

Ohmigosh this is so sweet, thank you!  I love the Queen's Thief books unconditionally, I can talk about them for ages and ages, I wish there was a ton of art for them.  <3

“Eddis” was a short story included in the paperback edition of either The Queen of Attolia or The King of Attolia. I can’t remember which!

And do Tygra and Lion-o ever get over their squabblefest, or is Lion-o too much of a dick!? I should really watch this ‘cause it sounds great, but I’ve never watched thundercats and also, I have no free time. ;_;

WELL, they do eventually get over it! SORT OF. It's a work in progress.

But uhhhh THE SHOW IS NOT GREAT. It is not really that good... at all. I mean, it's more entertaining and interesting than I would have initially given it credit for early on, but it is thin on characterization, or I guess I should say more subtle characterization. It's like you know the Big Things about people but you have to be able to ferret out/infer the things that would make them full and well-rounded and generally have... heart in a better show.

Also sometimes it is just utterly ridiculous and there are some episodes that are a complete waste and I am not a person who calls everything that's not a big mytharc piece "filler," but it has episodes where it's like WE HAVE LITERALLY LEARNED NOTHING NOR PROGRESSED ANYTHING CHARACTER OR PLOT OR INTERPERSONALLY IN ANY WAY WHATSOEVER.

And it has a LOT of weird stuff happening with hierarchies among the animals and the cats having an empire and it hasn't examined these things to my satisfaction yet and only sort of seems like it might end up with UH YEAH FREEING EVERYONE FROM OPPRESSION AND THEN OPPRESSING THEM OURSELVES WAS KIND OF SHITTY as opposed to just a sort of vague WE MUST ALL UNITE!1 AND FORGET THE SINS OF THE PAST THAT WERE MOSTLY US MAKING OURSELVES THE RULING CLASS AND TREATING YOU LIKE DIRT.

So, if I was someone who did not have a lot of time I would not spend it... on Thundercats (2011). That said, you don't have to have watched the original to understand this one. It's pretty much a complete re-imagining, mostly because the original was utterly incoherent.
