This thoroughly bewitching, silvery haunting gem has been out for nearly two months, but Porcupine, its prickly beats, and Jasmine Sokko’s breathy enthralling vocals are far too good not to give it a late share anyway. The Singaporean siren scintillates us with her immaculate and entrancing electropop and deep dance recipe on the adrenaline pumping yet slickly enchanting, vibrantly coiling jam. The song is about the ‘porcupine dilemma’, which she explains is: “a metaphor capturing the difficulty of human intimacy. Just as how porcupines are impeded by their spikes to cuddle for warmth during winter, humans get socially crippled by the emotional distance they create around people out of self-protection.” Porcupine is lifted from Jasmine Sokko’s recent EP, N°, which you can stream on Soundcloud, here.
