Dance Street

The sun goes down, folks stand in the doorways and hang out of windows. Looks of anticipation, waiting for something that's happened before. Soon on the sweet somehow both warm yet cool air; there is a whisper turning into a different roar. A sound, a song, the tune gets louder, stronger. It's impossible to resist. Feet begin to tap as bodies soon follow. The cobblestones shake to the beat, feet move to the rhythm. Such a sight, all from far and wide have left their previous stations to dance, they dance in the street. Feet shuffle, cloths sway in the motion. Eyes smile as much as lips do as they hum and even sing along to the words being repeated along the clouds. For hours until the break of dawn, they all move in unison. Men, women, children can't stop until the sound does. Yet, to stop they dare not, for they don't want such Joy to abandon them. Soon the sun's face starts to crest the horizon. The sound dissipates, evaporates, retreats to it's unknown source. All return to their homes in anticipation of another night when the sound of music will over come them like a flood, sweeping them back to dance street.
