This makes so much sense. Thank you!
omg you’re so welcome! I’m so glad. I didn’t know if it would make much sense at all! >_<
thoughts on gay marriage??
Gay marriage for non-Christians? Why the hecky deck not?! Non-Christian heterosexual couples can get hitched so why not non-Christian same-sex couples? One thing I realised today after talking to a staff worker (and nobody told me this, I thought it myself so please challenge me if you have to) is that I don’t think Christians own marriage. Marriage has been around since the cave man times. Christians own the form of marriage in which a man and a woman unite to become one flesh in the sight of God and vow to love each other in a selfless, giving, Christ-centred marriage relationship. It’s not just about the couple, it’s about Christ. Awesome. Now we can’t just go around telling homosexual people they can’t love each other or get married because of what the bible tells us to do as Christians (Matthew 19:4-6, Romans 1:24-32, 1 Corinthians 6:8-11, Leviticus 18 & 20). What do they care?? If they haven’t made the decision to accept God into their hearts, they’re not going to give a flip what He thinks of their relationship. No relationship is perfect. Every one of us is corrupted by sin, so who has the right to judge anyone else?
This morning I still didn’t understand why a Christian homosexual couple couldn’t have a successful Christ-centred marriage. I asked my staff-worker and he told me that it was because of sex, and the fact that God designed it to unite a man and woman physically and spiritually within marriage, and isn’t really the same any other way. I think I can understand and accept this. I definitely understand why it’s a gift intended for marriage. The personal connection sex forms can make breakups so much harder than they need to be and I’d want to make a serious commitment before bonding so close (ie. getting married haha). This isn’t to say that marriage is the ultimate goal for anyone, Christian or otherwise. It’s not. The Church has almost made marriage into an idol, held it up as the main goal of a Christian life, the only pathway to take in life. Jesus was never married and didn’t He live the only spotless life ever? This approach is not only wrong, but extremely damaging to single folk. The only ultimate marriage to be looking forward to is that between Christ and His Church, when we are all united in Him.

"It was just before the Passover Festival. Jesus knew that the hour had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end." -John 13:1
What do you thing about going vegan ?
First of all, choosing a vegan lifestyle is totally fine. I personally know a few Christians who choose to eat vegan or vegetarian and I don’t believe it bears any impact on their salvation. Some people may make this decision for their health or to avoid supporting industries that treat animals inhumanely.
However, if someone were to stop eating animal products based on the moral concept that God would not approve of killing animals for food, there are many passages in the bible that would suggest otherwise. God intended for us to eat meat, and while the old testament is full of laws outlining what meats are “clean” and “unclean”, Jesus points out in Mark 7:19 that basically no food is “unclean” in a religious sense, as it is feeding our stomachs, not our hearts. In saying this, He also implies that it is far more important to regulate what we are feeding ourselves with spiritually rather than physically.
So basically I think that veganism is fine as long as it isn’t a decision made under the presumption that God doesn’t like us killing animals for food and I totally admire anyone with enough restraint to avoid such a wide range of foods haha :)
His love is new every morning. Great is Your faithfulness.
