Gratitude. Progress. Reflection. Expansion. 2018 was an exciting year for Bernard Brown/bbmoves! We began the year performing in Los Angeles at the International Association of Blacks in Dance conference. We created a new work (Come.Unity) and revived an older work (Leanin’ In and Box). “Box” was featured in the New York Times! We performed across the great state of California. Our last performance, an invitation by the California Arts Council, was met with a standing ovation. Not everything was easy or smooth. We were met with some rejection. We are learning that not everything is meant for us. We are using rejection to clarify our mission, our materials and our work. As we look forward to exciting opportunities in the coming year, we look back with gratitude. Next Year is already brimming with opportunity and growth. We are cultivating new relationships and nurturing current ones. I cannot express the amount of gratitude I have for this wonderful team! Loyal, committed, talented and wonderful people.
