Baby Sensory Fruits & Veggies as Glee Characters
My credentials: I am passionate about fruit, glee, and those baby sensory videos with fruit and veggies dancing to adult music I watch like 10 of them a day
The Peas: Mike and Brittany
Peas are so underrated, but they are the backbone of the sensory fruits. They’re always in sync, always on beat. Arguably the most fun to watch. They are undoubtedly the best dancers and perform moves much more complicated than the other fruits and veggies. Mike and Brittany are all the peas to me. I feel so strongly about this. Don’t sleep on the peas!!
Strawberry: Rachel
I mean, could it be anyone else? Strawberry is always involved in every video, occasionally with the spotlight, usually in a bunch all at once because she’s gotta be the center of attention. Plus, it’s Rachel Berry. She had to be a berry. She’s sweet on her own but mixes well with others (when she chooses to). This specific strawberry really captures that Rachel Berry essence.
Pineapple: Finn
Pineapple doesn’t do much besides bounce back and forth but we love him for it!!! What he lacks in movement he makes up for in his presence and leadership to the other fruits, much like Finn. Pineapple is usually seen leading the other fruits and/or just vibing with himself or one other. Which leads me to…
Banana: Puck
Banana never outshines anyone else. His dancing’s kinda mid and no one really talks about him. Which is fine. The one time he’s fun to watch is when he’s paired with Pineapple as his backup dancer. They give off bestie vibes. It’s one of the main reasons I see Puck as Banana. Exhibit A:
That and I have mixed feelings on bananas depending on what day it is.
Oranges: Mercedes and Quinn
Not all oranges. Specifically this set of oranges that are always seen paired together in the videos. Don’t ask me why I feel this way—it’s just how I see them. They’re so cutie. It reminds me of the sweet, supportive Quinncedes dynamic in season 1. Oh how I miss it.
Green Onion: Tina
Green onion’s usually seen by herself like above, but it’s okay because she likes it that way. In this way she is so Tina-coded. I love her. She’s adorable. Not the most talented dancer but she’s there to support everyone else and gets to shine on her own. Also I really love the taste of green onions (you see how we’re straying from the canon of the baby sensory food-iverse to my personal tastes? There is no consistency here)
Lemon and Lime: Sam and Blaine
Look at them!!! This is the Blam dynamic. I don’t care what anyone says. They’re practically always paired in these videos and they look like they’re having so much fun together. They’re very energetic and constantly grinning. Now, I’m not saying Blaine and Sam are limes and lemons to me in terms of real fruit, no. But in the baby sensory food-iverse? No other fruit captures their whimsy.
Raspberry: Santana
She’s just so cool! Raspberry is also a pretty solid dancer. She’s typically seen on her own in a bunch like this because she has a strong stage presence or she can be seen in a mix with the other berries. Red is Santana’s color, so I knew she had to be a red fruit. Raspberries have a tendency to taste tart, which matches Santana’s personality too perfectly. I personally like her as a berry as well because…
Blueberry: Kurt
It could never have been another. Kurt is blueberry to me!!! They don’t do many complicated moves like the peas. Blueberries kind of shimmy around, and are usually seen on their own like this—all like Kurt. Also, look at that boy’s face and tell me it’s not shaped like one of these blueberries. They could be twins. The strawberry, raspberry, and blueberry all get put together in cute little dance circles occasionally, and I like to think of them as Kurtcheltana because I miss them. Exhibit B:
Also blueberry’s one of my favorite fruits so Kurt has to be blueberry to me.
Corn: Artie
I can’t find a good image of the corn. But Artie’s corn. That’s it.
Thank you for coming to my TedTalk :]
