Warning: none (fluff), kinda ooc Phainon
Additional notes: it's a oneshot (2930). The reader is a priest(ess) of Phagousa, but it's not a major plot point.
Setting: you're resting in the Garden of Life during "nighttime" with Phainon.
Phainon often talked about the wheat harvest season in his village. It was a time of celebration when everyone gathered to honor the titan of everlasting night with joyful dances. Just hearing his enthusiastic voice was enough to feel the warmth. Children playing under the blazing sun and the rustling of the wind among the wheat fields the color of Mnestia's silk dress. The best time of the year, when parents weren't hanging around their necks for at least one day.
You laughed at this in your mind, no, Phainon is too selfless to think that way about his parents. As he spoke, you silently admired his face. Who would have thought that a sun-kissed village, hidden behind the veil of time, would give birth to such a snow-white gorgeous man.
It makes you wonder if such a handsome guy would have a line of local girls after his heart. And not just girls, every mother would want to have such a hard-working son in law with beautiful eyes as deep as the sky. The sky... of course, the difference between you and him is like heaven and earth. Although, with his vanity, he doesn't belong among the clouds of Aquila either. You can't fool a Titan with your tearful story. However, your heart has long been deceived. Perhaps, if you pray enough to the Titan of Love and Beauty they will spare your fragile heart. Yes, that would be wonderful...
The Kephale's sunrays glisten, you involuntarily close your eyes, and Phainon's voice becomes fainter and fainter...
“[name]...? [name]!” you suddenly open your eyes, and before you is the face of a troubled man. “Are you okay?” his hand is held in the air near you, as if hesitating whether to touch you or not. How oddly hesitant of him. A sinister thought flashes through your mind, about how much you want to hear what the highly respected heir is thinking right now. Your silent, soul-searching gaze frightens him more and more with each passing minute. “Would you like to dance?” without giving him a chance to answer, you grab his hand and pull him toward you, too close, he stepped back, keeping his distance like a true gentleman, but not letting go of your hand. “Right here? Right now? Have you hit your head?" rude, yet he has never looked so pathetic before, it's as if you had asked him to marry you and move in together. Such torment brings you sick joy. “You're not telling me about home again for no reason, are you? That means it's wheat harvest season. That means we have to honor the blessings of the Titans.”
He stood rooted to the spot for a moment. Now you had not only confessed your love, but also suggested getting a puppy, allegedly. What’s wrong with him? A hero should be more confident. However, his eyes softened and he really listened to what you were saying. If you look closely, you'll notice a beautiful pink glow on his cheeks. "If the priest(ess) of Phagousa themselves says so, then I cannot refuse."
A/N: I hate how this turned out. The pacing is too quick. And Phainon is a hard character to fully grasp. I will rewrite this someday
