he can  feel   her staring at him. blaine looks up, eyes wide and confused. she’s either staring at his face or his hair  ------  considering his hair care techniques are a  running joke   among all who know him  ( and apparently offensive to brittany in particular )  he’s guessing it’s the latter. unnerved he crosses his arms and looks away, before he self-consciously shifts his eyes back to her.  “ what, brittany? ”

      ❛  hi!  ❜  he  interlocks  his  arm  with  hers,  a  grin  quickly  spreading  over  his  features.  he  takes  advantage  of  any  chance  to  get  to  hang  out  with  her  alone,  it  feels  like  they’re  always  with  the  rest  of  the  glee  club.  ❛  i  was  thinking,  you  and  i  should  totally  duet  together.  we  haven’t  yet  and  we’re  totally  the  most  talented  members  so  we’d  win.  it’s  not  a  competition,  but  it  sorta  is.  ❜  so  he’s  feeling  a  little  cocky,  sue  him.

“ brittany s. pierce. ” the name comes out with the fluidity of his own, strong & with intention. he put his all into his presence, enjoying the way people saw him with the charm & ego turned on. “ i didn’t peg you as broadway bound barbie. more like a backup dancer one. maybe even a lead, if you worked on perfecting the right mix of flow & skill. i mean really, get the equation wrong & you look like the song is kicking your ass, & you’re not even fighting back. ” it’s not the most polite critique, but from his standpoint it was help she needed to hear. & honestly he wouldn’t fret if she ended up disliking him because of it. honestly while his love life was on the rocks his focus was all win all the time. that meant the judgement was on, & he was happy to hand it out. “ that being said, what are you doing sniffing through the greats of the stage, dancing queen ? ”

          rosy lips stretch into a smile,       though perhaps it’s more in response to the praise she’s about to give herself. rachel leans in a bit to really drive her point home, giving a resolute nod of her head. “you’re very talented. i should know, i’m very talented, too.”

      his arm gently curls around her waist, fingers splaying out against the small of her back. he pulls brittany in, wearing a bright smile. sam leans forward and presses his forehead to hers, his other hand lifting to cup her cheek and thumb over the skin. then he pauses and leans back, so that he’s able to meet brittany’s gaze. ❝how was your day? are you goin’ home now or d’you have cheerio practise?❞

    the year had officially ended with brittany’s last final, and sam couldn’t wait to spend a whole summer with her. he was so excited that he showed up at her school, parking in the closest parking spot he could find and leaning against the hood until she showed up.

   “you ready to get your things and get the hell out of dodge for three months?” he greeted with a warm grin, opening his arms to catch the girl when she walked out of the building.  // @dancingcheerio
