Dandelion Flower Tea

On a grey and rainy Spring day, this cheerful, bright yellow Dandelion Flower Tea is quite a soothing drink that lift up one’s spirits. It is inspired by a recipe I found in -where else?- this month’s The Simple Things, and it supposedly clears one’s skins; but I made mine with the flowers only; I’m saving the leaves for dinner!

Ingredients (serves 2):

half a dozen freshly picked dandelion flowers

2 cups boiling water

honey or sugar, to sweeten (optional)

After picking dandelion flowers, set them aside to allow eventual insects to escape. Then, cut the stem of each just under the flowers, and rinse them under cold water.

Pop clean dandelion flowers into a teapot and cover with boiling water. Cover with the lid and a tea cosy, and steep, 3 minutes.

Serve Dandelion Flower Tea hot, sweetened with honey or sugar if you so desire.

I don't know if you had the same childhood or not, but I was told that if you hold a buttercup under your chin and it glowed yellow, you were a fairy.

It had something to do with the light reflecting off the petals and making your skin look like it was glowing.

But all I can think of is Jaskier doing the same thing, but with a dandelion. And glowing super yellow.

Perhaps some village children out him up to it. Enchanted by his songs and overall demeanour they were convinced he is fae.

And as a joke he tries it out and glows yellow as fuck. Much to Geralt's surprise, and the amusement of the children.
