Alrighty folks, new whitepine episode, new theory.

From the two preview photos that I’ve seen, I believe that there will be a fairly split plot line over what’s been going on behind the scenes with Pyro and Ivory’s suspicion of Div. Let’s start with what the Pyro plot line might be about,

Given what we know about Pyro is that he was immensely close with Mystycat and was deeply affected by her death (man be going through it in every universe I swear), and that there is a definite level of guilt attached to her death. Additionally, Ivory, who he clearly cares about, was violently attacked after being pretty much abducted from the estate. So from this, it’s possible that he’s feeling a lot of responsibility and guilt for the unfortunate events that have occurred in his home and for BOTH events happening to his personal maids. Honestly, he might be approaching an emotional breakdown this episode.

My second theory for the Pyro plot line has to do with his mystery illness. From what we know, the symptoms include: coughing, vomiting (possibly triggered by the coughing), exhaustion, and lack of appetite. Now while I believe Ivory has purposely left the symptoms vague, given the time period I would suggest something along the lines of tuberculosis. However, given that most of Pyro’s sick scenes occur behind closed doors it could possibly be an eating disorder, this could be supported by the fact that Zombie seems to know about Pyro’s retching (but never confronting him about it and instead just avoids it, which if it was a sickness such as tuberculosis, Zombie would’ve probably called in a doctor) and makes a few comments about him not eating. Because of this the preview photo of Pyro on the ground having most likely collapsed, might be his body finally crashing on him.

Moving onto the Ivory plot line, we can see from the trailer that Ivory, the rest of the servants, and other Hemlock heirs are arriving back to Emberton from Redhill. The trailer shows a lot of scenes from the servants going about their usual tasks, the Hemlocks interacting with each other, Ivory seeing Div in the forest, and the final scene of the trailer showing Mr. Pierce (you can barely see his mask before he turns) walking across the field from the forest.

Since the main preview photo for the episode is Ivory hiding behind a tree, spying on Div, this will likely be the primary focus of her perspective. From the past we know Div is a bit odd, humming in the forest alone after Mysty’s death, which is what he’s probably doing in the preview scene. Since Ivory has been doing some semi-detective work (her and Seraptor following BitOtter) she might be following Div into the forest which is where the scene of Mr. Pierce crossing the field comes in. It might be due to both Ivory and Div wandering off and Mr. Pierce following after them. While I can’t say with confidence there will be some kind of confrontation between Ivory and Div about Div’s odd behavior, I’m sure that at the every least we’ll be finding out some new info.

Well that’s all my theories for this episode, I honestly can’t wait for it to be released, Ivory does fantastic work and there is always a surprise to catch us off guard. ALSO I checked out Pyroscythe’s Wickwatcher pilot episode and it was amazing! If any of you like fantasy and drama, you’ll definitely love it and there are plenty Whitepine cast members in it too. I think Pyro mentioned that since VSMP is over the next episode of Wickwatcher will be coming out, though I don’t remember a specific time set for it. But I’m tempted to make a whole other theory post on Wickwatcher before it comes out.

With the upcoming finale of Whitepine, I wanted to share my thoughts on the events of episode 10. More specifically on Mysty’s murderer and why I think that either conclusion on if the guy arrested for her death is actually guilty or not is actually very fitting for the series as a whole.

Now from episode 10 and the accompanying article form the Emberton Wire, we are told that this random guy killed Mysty just because “she deserved it” and that the guy had disappeared from his home for a bit before randomly turning up and confessing to the murder.

Taking this at face value, let’s assume in this instance that this is truly why Mysty died. It would be very devastating but very realistic the damage that can be inflicted by those who are unstable in a society that downplays or ignores the signs of mental illness and how tragedy can be inflicted upon the kindest and undeserving people simply for being at the wrong place at the wrong time. Which given how Whitepine is almost a study in issues such as mental health awareness, sexism, and classism, it would make perfect sense if this is truly how Mysty’s story is supposed to conclude.

Now I do understand why some people were a bit disappointed when episode 10 first came out and saying that if this was the real ending of Mysty’s story then it was pointless or a bad ending, but I’m content if this is the ending that Ivorycello was aiming for.

As for the theory that the confessor ISNT the real murder of Mysty, I do think that the message of mental health awareness is still very prevalent to this theory.

In the Whitepine universe there are several factors why I do believe that the guy who confessed isn’t actually Mysty’s real killer and part of it is the timeline and some other scenes that I think support that.

Let’s start with the knife. Back in episode 8, while most the staff are away to Redhill, Clown and Ash are left behind and Clown has his PTSD episode in the attic with the “sword”. Now I say “sword” because it could actually be a knife as while Ivorycello did obviously add in some mods for Whitepine there wasn’t much added in the way of items. And it isn’t explicitly said to be a sword by Ash or Clown so it very well COULD be a knife. This coupled with the fact that Clown threw it into the woods afterwards (likely to prevent himself from either getting triggered or out of self-frustration for pulling it on Ash) gives the guy who claims to have murdered Mysty the weapon that the police take from him later (described as a hunting knife).

Now for the timeline itself, first episode is Mysty’s murder and the next episode is the following day. While I’m just doing this off the top of my head I do think in-universe at least a few weeks have gone by. Or at least enough time that Ivory is fairly used to working at Whitepine by the time episode 8 rolls around as there are mentions of the weather changing so let’s say that including the staff’s weeklong vacation in Redhill, about a month to a month-and-a-half has gone by since Mysty’s death (if anyone has an actual timeline plotted out let me know!).

What we learn in episode 10 from Rekrap is that some neighbors of the Hemlocke Family spotted someone running away from Whitepine’s “backyard” now putting aside the fact that I have no idea where these neighbors would have been able to see this without being in the Usherwood or on Whitepine’s grounds, it’s strange that this guy is spotted AFTER the Whitepine staff returns from their weeklong trip. So the guy has just been surviving outside since Mysty’s death?? Just after a weapon is within range? Seems unlikely.

Also while Rekrap says that the guy who confessed was covered in brown stains that MIGHT be dried blood, they don’t actually know and those stains could very easily have just been from wandering in the Usherwood. Alongside this, it makes no sense that the other strange things around Whitepine would be caused by this guy. First off how would he know were and when to destroy the boiler room without getting spotted by staff and while getting into the attic and leaving the door open is a bit more probable with the lack of staff why wouldn’t he attack Clown if he already attacked Mysty? Both of them would’ve been alone and if the guy was unstable enough to attack Mysty the way she was, I don’t think he would’ve hesitated to jump Clown too.

All of this, coupled with how people do confess to crimes they didn’t commit even when sound of mind, it would make sense if he just claimed to be Mysty’s killer for whatever reason and with the knife he probably picked up from Whitepine’s “backyard” it would make sense to believe him.

Either option would work for me as a completely understandable and solid way for the plot to either conclude or continue with Mysty’s murder. But I am curious to hear what yall think is more likely, especially with the finale coming up, I feel like there’s going to be some big revaluations and I’m excited for the Ivory and Ebony side to continue as well.

Alright, new whitepine ep time to make some predictions.

I’m just theorizing but I don’t think Clown is gonna be the murderer. It’s way too obvious, Clown has the reputation of always being the villain in whatever role he’s in. Ivory know’s this too so it may be a red herring. So I’m thinking that with the thumbnail and the community post with Clown holding the sword there is a few reasons as to why. But first let’s lay out what we know so far.

This episode the majority of the cast (Ivory, Seraptor, the Hemlock heirs, etc) will be going to Redhill (I think). With Clown and Ash being the only servants around with the remaining Hemlock family members. This means that while all the other servants are gone, Clown and Ash have to do everything around the estate on their own. Now Pyro mentioned that the two of them could manage the household on their own, however since Mysty’s death all the servants have been present and doing their own delegated responsibilities since. Meaning that since Clown is usually upstairs managing things or in his office while Ash is mostly in the kitchen, there isn’t much reason for either of them to go in the basement.

In the thumbnail for episode 8, we can see that Clown and Ash are in the basement (maybe attic but we haven’t seen that so let’s just go with the basement) by the background. So my first theory is this:

Everyone is gone so Clown and Ash are working together to get stuff done, including going into the basement to either get something or put something in storage. While they’re doing whatever it is, Clown finds the murder weapon hidden down in the basement and shows Ash what he’s found. Hence why in the thumbnail Clown is shown stepping out from behind a wooden pillar.

My second theory (which I find a lot less likely) is that while Ash and Clown are doing the usual servant chores, they spot the Detective lurking around the estate. Since we know that Borm was placed on paid leave from the newspaper, it’s possible that he’d return to the estate looking for Ivory to probably attack her again or stalk her. At this point the entire household knows that he kidnapped and assaulted Ivory. So I feel that Clown (former military man) wouldn’t take too kindly to Borm showing up after attacking Ivory and would probably be on alert since if the Detective was willing to hurt Ivory he might hurt someone else. So it’s possible that after seeing Borm lurking about, that Clown would go get a weapon (such as the sword) while telling Ash to call for the police or the Hemlocks (or even Ash telling Clown to not pull a sword on a crazy detective).

Now I’m going to miss the premiere since my morning class starts at the same time, but I can’t wait to see how this new episode turns out!

Alright, just accidentally deleted my post but I’m just gonna restate it and add on to what I just realized.

So I originally said that with the Zolister subplot we know that he’s been sneaking around Zombiedwarf’s office and that he’s probably looking for company secrets or something along those lines.

Now from the photo posted with him in it, it’s very dramatized and gives the implication that Zolister sees something important. Whether he’s uncovered a secret of the Hemlocke family or he’s witnessed something that impacts what is happening with the whole murder and strange things happening around the estate, I don’t know. However, I do feel like there is a possibility that if what Zolister sees is very impactful then there is a real chance he might be killed next.

Because if Zolister uncovers a dark secret of the Hemlocke’s and gets immediately caught or is suspected of knowing, Zombie seems like the kind of man to do anything to ensure his position and reputation is not threatened. Then he’s pretty much as good as dead.

However if Zolister witnesses something else like someone else getting attacked or seeing suspicious happen, then I think it will have some heavy impact on the overarching story.

My final guess is that maybe Zolister finds one of those secret passages that some of us have been theorizing about.

Alrighty folks, new white pine episode, new theory. This is gonna be a pretty long one.

Now we have two pictures for this episode and I think I know who the scribbled out person may be. Looking at the photo we can see a (presumably) male character with dark, most likely dark brown or black hair. Now the these are the whitepine characters that have particularly dark hair: rekrap, borm, Zolister, div_y, Ivo, Pyro, Minute, and Zombie. Now we can easily remove rekrap, Minute, and Zombie since their skin doesn’t match the photo at all. Next I would remove borm and div_y since they both have hair characteristics or accessories that would stick out even if scribbled (borm’s flowers and div_y’s white streak & hairpin).

Now we’re down to just three: Pyro, Ivo, and Zolister.

We can remove Pyro from the list for two reasons, first his hair is too light (although brunette) and his facial hair would be too visible for the photo and second we already know that the police have “found the killer” according to Mr. Pierce which means they probably have the ‘killer’ in custody. And this second reason coupled with the timing of his arrival, removes Zolister from the list as well.

Which makes Ivo the most likely candidate.

Now we don’t know much about Ivo, literally in a few scenes for two episodes before he hightailed it out of the Whitepine Estate and probably Emberton too. But before we dive into why he left, let’s compare his appearance to the photo.

The hair matches fairly closely and unlike some of the other characters, Ivo has no additional characteristics that would stick out, he’s a pretty plain character by design. Next is the skin tone which although not the best photos to use as comparison due to lighting differences it is decently within possibility. The white shirt the scribbled out photo is probably what the police put him in after arresting him it is what his outfit outside the whitepine uniform is so that doesn’t really matter.

Now do I think that Ivo is the true murder of Mysty? Ehh, I’m 50-50 on it. But in universe there is some reason that the characters would think it possible. Let’s start at the beginning.

Mysty was murdered the day after Ivory was initially hired, during the first day Ivory was wondering around the servant’s side of the estate when she ran into Ivo to which he described himself as “I’m just a butler”. Now it isn’t what he said that’s odd (although compared to how the other characters react to Ivory upon meeting her for the first time it was rather brief and he seemed intent on leaving) it’s the place where they met. Ivo comes out from around the corner of where the attic door is, which we know from episode 8 has a sword in it and Mr. Pierce (as well as the audience) heard the floorboards creaking.

Alongside this we do know that Ivo left Whitepine almost immediately after the interrogations the staff underwent. Which for those who enjoy detective shows know that one of the things suspects and witnesses are frequently told is “don’t leave town” and those who do are immediately suspicious. Ivo was the only person from Whitepine who left and we don’t know if he skipped town too or just left Whitepine. But either way for the police (excluding borm), that would be strange behavior even if the frankly horrendous pay the Whitepine staff have also played a role in Ivo’s leaving (his conversation with Kantje).

Now literally all the Whitepine servants have a reason to be upset with the Hemlocke’s or well mostly Zombiedwarf.

- Terrible pay

- Very little time off

- General poor treatment (zombie being the ‘don’t speak until spoken to’ type)

- Labor intensive job with little to no gratitude or appreciation

This is all fairly typical for the era the show is set in but let’s be honest for such a rich family, it would be expected that it would be reflected in how much the staff are paid.

All of which could be made into “motivation” for Ivo to murder Mysty. Who from what we know was very close to the Hemlocke heir and seemed to have been a more trusted member of staff. Now why Mysty at all instead of Zombie or one of his kids? From an in-universe perspective it could have been any of these:

- The reaction to a noble getting murdered would’ve been too severe and it would’ve been more of a blow against the family’s general reputation and a scare tactic against them in a “if I got one of you, I could get any of you” sort of way.

- A personal vendetta against Mysty (since we the viewers don’t know much about any of the staff relationships prior to Ivory’s arrival)

- Crime of passion, likely from an argument the two could’ve had or Mysty caught Ivo doing something he shouldn’t have been doing and he killed her to silence her (maybe stealing since they don’t get paid much)

Now outside looking in, I do have significant doubts the real killer is Ivo mainly due to the overkill on Mysty and the strangeness of what been occurring around Whitepine since her death. Mysty was so viciously attacked that limbs had to be replaced for her funeral, and I just don’t think it would be possible for Ivo to brutally murder Mysty at the main entrance, get cleaned up completely unseen, and end up in the kitchen with the rest of the staff by the time her body was found. Additionally, even after Ivo left strange things have been happening: the cot going missing, doors being left open and floorboards creaking, the entire boiler room incident.

I’ve seen some talk that there might be secret passages in Whitepine, which is a possibility with how we’ve seen the detective lurking about. But why would Ivo return to Whitepine and do these strange things if he did kill Mysty? It would make a lot more sense for him to leave and not come back to mess around with the people still there. More than likely from my perspective, is that the real killer is probably not anyone we’ve seen yet which makes it a whole lot more interesting.

Anyways that’s my theory for who the killer may be, I’ll be posting later my thoughts on the Zolister picture.
