I feel like yapping about what toons I think attract certain players in Dandy's World
I wanna preface by saying this is not a take on EVERYONE who plays a certain toon, not everyone is like what I'm about to say, people have different skill levels and that's completely fine, there's no attacking here in that regard, and if you ignore this and proceed to say "Well I play [toon] and I don't act like that!" I will personally bite you, I didn't say you do
Anways, extremely long post coming in:
I've played Dandy's World for over a year and a half now and have quite literally everything this game has to offer rn (except for a select few achievements I either have little interest in getting or are just taking it slow) so that does mean I've played this game a LOT and have been in a LOT of runs with many many different kinds of players and a lot of players often form stereotypes around them, some have one but a couple have two or three
Here's what I think are toon player stereotypes
Poppy- Poppy players are either brand new to the game and have no idea what they're doing or are competent players just playing Poppy for the sake of it/to get mastery, you'll see newer Poppys running Coin Purse and Wrench
Boxten- Boxtens also fall into new player status but make it a bit further than Poppys but I've met and seen my fair share of good Boxten players and Boxten players who try to start beef with mains when they do main only runs...
Cosmo- I haven't actually seen THOSE Cosmo players, yk the ones that rp with every Sprout they see, but I have met my fair share of Cosmos who believe they're entitled to every heal under the sun. Even when they have full heals. Other players need heals too, you aren't always gonna be there to heal.
Shrimpo- They always out last the rest of the team or make it much further than anticipated, I've seen so many Shrimpos go further than people who have Pebble
Brusha- Very very rare breed of player, only really there to get mastery, they're pretty helpful, god send to 1 star Skill Checkers
Looey- So many Looeys I've met think they're invincible on one heart. Looey players. Never. And I mean NEVER distract on one heart. Only do it if you have Pebble or Rage Glisten. I've also met Looeys who snatch Twisteds from Distractor Pebbles and Looey's who are the best players ever
Tisha- another rare breed, only there to get Shelly, also very helpful and come in clutch with their boosts
Yatta- Machine snatcher GALORE omg, buddy, you don't need to do everyone's machines.
Rudie- Machine snatcher pt 2 (of many) STOP DASHING TO MACHINES YOU CLEARLY SEE PEOPLE GOING FOR. You're JUST an asshole, no-one finds it funny.
Eggson- The one everyone tries to keep alive, if grandpa dies, everyone cries, god send on Dyle floor
Ribecca- Extremely Rare Breed, don't got much to say on Ribeccas cause I haven't seen one since Halloween
Toodles- Despite what people say, I've had more heal callouter Toodles than med stealer Toodles, they aren't as bad as what people say and often are just new to the game
Teagan- I've had my fair share of tape muncher Teagans when playing Sprout... Please Teagans, only take like 2 tapes out of Sprout's view per floor, AND STOP RUNNING FANCY PURSE
Rodger- WHY ARE YOU ALL SO STUPID.... PUT ON SPEED TRINKETS... PLEASE... WAIT FOR PANIC TO GET YOUR RESEARCH... YOU PUT PEOPLE IN DANGER..
Finn- Rare Breed, tend to be new players, either they actually extract or just get in the way
Connie- Connie players exist....?
RnD- RnD players exist....? (Usually die early or beef with people)
Brightney- I have yet to meet a nice, competent Brightney. Why are y'all so fucking mean, you don't gotta be a bitch all the time. also. CUT. THE FUCKING. CORNER. IF YOU PULLED TWISTEDS. STOP RUNNING IN A STRAIGHT LINE. YOU HAVE ONE STAR STEALTH.
Ginger- Not as big of a Fancy Purse user but please put on your speed trinkets folks, other than that, they sometimes feel like the only one with a brain on your team
Flyte- Flytes work overtime to support their team, I feel bad for em
Soulvester- Tend to get in the way.. and die early.. because they also didn't put speed trinkets on...
Scraps- Rare Breed, usually there to just get Goob, and are... very.. very.. stupid..
Glisten- Rare Breed, also very stupid.. I've seen so many Glistens run face first into twisteds, forget their stealth and just stand still doing nothing
Goob- God, Goob is the poster child of a coin flip in this game. Spaghetti Goobs, Neapolitan Goobs and some Vintage Goobs are gonna be your best friend and be the most clutching mfers ever while Partygoer and Normal Goobs are there to actively make your day worse. They're unhelpful, don't do machines or, most importantly, grief.
Blot- Extremely Rare Breed, those jrs come in clutch
Flutter- Rare Breed, can either be helpful or leave floor 2
Squirm- Omg the amount of fucking Squirms I've seen that act so entitled to machines is genuinely insane
Gigi- Rare Breed, they're there to chill or grief, you never know..
Coal- They're just trying to distract man </3
Cocoa- On the opposite spectrum to Brightney, I have yet to meet a mean or incompetent Cocoa, they're always extremely friendly and helpful
Eclipse- Say they can dis in Blackout, die immediately.
Now the mains.. these might ruffle some feathers...
Pebble- Either the best distractor ever or die floor 1 despite having a hard to get title. Often times throw hissyfits when they can't distract even tho someone asked to do it first.
Vee- fall into "I forgor my speed trinket", run veemote even tho they literally do not need to and get pissed off when they can't pop their veemote on YOUR machine instead of going somewhere else.
Shelly- Nothing negative to say, all very polite and very helpful players, sometimes they don't use their ability on the correct players and think that their boost works on treadmills, but that's ok.
Sprout- You are not entitled to every tape or item. You can survive if one tape is taken dawg. Stop threatening to not heal when someone takes one tape. Also. Put down the purse, use Dandy Plush if you got it, it's much better.
Astro- ..... You know you have a fucking ability right. Press the icon once in your life omg dawg.
Bobette- You guys can be so helpful for solar distracting, but it sucks that during the 2025 Christmas Event, I got 4 griefer Bobettes </3
Bassie- They can be some of the MOST helpful players ever, distracting when the help is needed, trying to extract to the best of their abilities, giving people items in clutch moments. BUT. Veemote Bassies. STOP. TAKING. PEOPLE'S. MACHINES. WHEN THEY. AREN'T ON IT. FOR 3 MILLISECONDS. You will piss people off doing that shit. Go veemote machines out in the open or near the distractor circle.
Gourdy- another case of either really really helpful or die floor 4 </3
