Finally finished the whole Giver trilogy and the final book The Son. Lois Lowry is a fantastic author but I cannot stand her endings. Every last dang ending in all 4 books were supremely unsatisfying or frustrating.
Also

no0bs in my class: uh I thought it was like uh supposed to be comical and yeah cuz he rambles alot
my writing professor: Okay! Great start. Let's write that on the board. Try and use some quotations to support your argument.
me: I took a sort of different approach... I think the writer used that tone as a vessel to mask his political commentary in order to avoid censorship. There's a quote here on page 145 that--
