Page 2. ---- Sentence Suspended on Civilian Instructor at Hamilton ---- Hamilton, Jan. 11 - (CP)-Gerald Grogan, 24, civilian flying instructor at the London, Ont., R.C.A.F. station, pleaded guilty today to flying his Avro-Anson bomber at a height of 75 feet above houses in Westlake, on Dec. 20.
Magistrate H. A. Burbidge, declaring that he was taking into consideration the fact that Grogan has already been penalized, and that "it would be better to assure his future good conduct than take his money," imposed a suspended sentence, and put accused on probation for a year.
Harvey McCulloch, crown attorney, said air force authorities "take a very serious view of this offence." Accused had been grounded for two weeks. This cost him two weeks pay. A fine had also been imposed.
