As if this scene didn’t look familiar. After weeks of hardly seeing and not speaking to one another again since the last time they met at the party he and his friends threw, the last thing Dani expected was to find Slightly standing on the doorstep of her house. And she was just about ready to shut the door right on his face when she saw that it was him, not particularly in the mood to be dealing with her ex-boyfriend and whatever confusing emotional state he might be at the moment. But just as the redhead began to close the door, he reached out and held hand against it, keeping her from doing so and causing Dani to shoot a glare at him. She opened her mouth to say something, only for Slightly to beat her to it by claiming that he just wanted to say he was sorry. At that, she paused. “….Sorry about what, exactly?” Dani asked with an unreadable gaze. There was one main thing that came to mind in which she could assume he was here to apologize for, and that is why before her ex could continue and say so himself, Dani spoke up again. “If this is about the party, it’s fine— I’ve already forgotten all about it.”
Slightly had needed a few days to recover from the utter humiliation that was the apartment party he and the lost boys had hosted. Not only had his crush kissed someone else the same night as he kissed him, but he’d had an unfortunate encounter with the ex-girlfriend who had ghosted him and finally gotten drunk enough to thoughtlessly serenade Dani with a “take me back” song on karaoke. He’d given her more than a few days to let her anger over that one fizzle out—but maybe he could have let her cool down a while longer with how she attempted to slam the door on him the second she caught sight of him. Even as her words said she’d forgotten about the party, she clearly hadn’t if she knew that was what he was here to apologize for. “Please, can we talk? I don't want things to go back to how they were before..." He let go of the door he'd caught to keep her from shutting him out, dropping his hand and taking a step back to give her space. "I just want us to be cool again—like we were for about a minute before I screwed everything up. Can we clear the air? Instead of leaving things all...messy."
