Personally I'm enjoying your thoughts about the finale and post season 5 because I'm one of the people who was really disappointed by the finale. But your posts are making me hopeful that they are setting stuff up for the future.

You're also doing a great job of making me excited for the fanfiction that's going to come out of this lol

Awww thank you!! It's so nice to hear my posts are making people excited, because I AM EXCITED and I want to share that!

I DID actually love the finale on my first watchthrough--and I think I'm in the minority for that even though I've seen a lot of people come around after the fact 😂. But I think that's in part because I inadvertantly stumbled into a couple spoilers ahead of time--one of those being that Adrien doesn't find out the truth about his father. And I'll be honest: when I first found out about that, I HATED it. Like, what's even the point if he never finds out? Where's the payoff?! And even in the week before the finale aired, I was SO disheartened realizing--from how the trailers seemed--Adrien probably wasn't going to be part of the "final showdown".

All that to say, I completely understand why people are disatistfied with this season finale. But personally, when I sat down to watch--with rather neutral expectations--all I could see was the possibility. Because the ending to me was immediately so...unsettling. So off. And watching that I couldn't help but think, "there's NO WAY this is sustainable". Unless the wish rewrote people's memories (which, it could have, but that's not what I personally believe at this time), then way too many people know the truth--or at least pieces of it--for Adrien to never find out. And he didn't miss out on "the big win". Because the heroes DIDN'T win. (Neither did Gabriel, really. But that's a discussion for other posts.)

But if I hadn't known certain things beforehand, I think I WOULD have been upset upon my first watch. And certainly in the past it has taken me time to digest some episodes--and oftentimes seeing other people analyze what's happened in an episode is what helps me come around to it!

So I want to spread my excitement. I want other people to share it not because I want them to agree with me, but because I definitely know how much it sucks when a piece of media you love disappoints you, and sometimes it doesn't have to be that way. Sometimes thinking about something--taking time to adjust to it and reading new POVs--lets you change your perspective. Which is really the beauty of fandom!

And I think everyone who loves this show deserves to get as much enjoyment out of it as they can.

TOO MANY THOUGHTS YAY. i do have so many in those but i feel like i'm only unhinged about them in certain places.

and ajkdfkjsf look in principle I don't have an issue with uwu--some of my friends are just teasing me about it (ok mostly charky). I admit that I can write fluff! XD But a lot of the fluffier fics I have (not all, but many) are only fluffy because they're gifts for other people. I do really like writing fluffy endings, or bits of fluff amidst the chaos, but I enjoy writing more complex/angsty emotions a lot more.
