She hadn't noticed the changes at first. She was still Leah, still there with her friends and family. Coming home from the Zanith trials had been just that, coming home to Logain and Evan and Evie, seeing her children up close again, holding them. The only difference had been the echoes of voices in the back of her mind, prayers to the lady of lightning that she could feel with her wherever she went. Slowly, though, they had grown louder, they had shaped what she was. A young girl would ask for a storm to keep her safe, and the spell was unleashed almost before Leah knew what she was doing. She saw how people looked at her differently, and that wouldn't have mattered if it hadn't been her own friends and family too. It happened so gradually, more and more as her powers grew, as her followers grew with her, she almost didn't notice. But she noticed the gray hairs that began to mix with dark blue at evan's temples, she noticed Conley and Cassie growing into adulthood, and little Evan, well, he wasn't so little anymore, bouncing his own little girl on his knee. In all of that, Logain was the only one who stayed as he was, staying with her in a youthful body frozen in time. She tried to stay there with him as the years passed by. She wanted to stay there, to live with the constant reminder of where she had began. It didn't last forever, though. It hadn't stood a chance when her soul was pulled so far from his side by those desiring her guidance. It overwhelmed her in time, and she lost herself to the ebb and flow of her power, to reaching down to touch the lives of those faithful to her. Then came the immortal wars. It was the only name for them, really. Zanith and non divine alike were hunted, and her powers dwindled to the barest of what she'd ever had. It was glorious, like coming back to life, her world quiet again. Quiet except for the sounds of war riding the waves to her doorstep. She could have hidden herself away, focusing more on staying alive than anything else, but she was restless. Decades had passed now between the last time she'd seen him, and now she knew she'd have to find him. It wouldn't be hard, after all. He would be hunted just as she was. All she'd have to do is look for the places where the hunted were fighting back. --- It wasn't easy, following the trails Logain left behind. Leah found herself nearly lost at times, nearly overwhelmed by those who had decided she should, by all rights, be dead. It left her battered and bruised, torn to pieces and exhilarated. Lightning danced around her in those days, shooting like bullets from her fingertips to hamper those that stood between her and her quarry.
