In modern days when you have the streaming service as an option for legal music listening, it actually gives musician a big stab at the back. Consumers just need to pay a portion of couple bucks and enjoy the world of music if they wanted to. On the flip slide, what are the musician are going to earn? How to pay off their effort on musical and creative training and their “nervous system” (George Harrison’s Term) that was put into it.
So vinyl record, in this circumstances gives a new meaning and become a new solution for artists and musicians.
The record, the cover art, the poster / inlay card / download card now become a package for dedicated attention. The cover now become a place to exercise creativity and artistic freedom, that attracts consumers to purchase it as a art-piece, then one can have a dedicated attention of the music one has to present. Only this can attract loyal audience and consumers moving forward.
You can read more about Daniel Brandt on the Internet, while his concept for the cover did win me over - a transparent plastic folder with white text over on front and and back, and a changeable artwork beneath. It gives different impression upon different combination. An economical application of different record cover through a simple execution.
