Layla - Smokestacks
She's everywhere I turn right now and I don't mind in the slightest. This is a stellar new track with a more mature sound, I came across her through her Yellow Circles video with director Daniel Broadley and have been hooked ever since, credible pop songwriting with huge amounts of potential. She's just finished a stint supporting Bipolar Sunshine on his tour and her first headline show is promoted by Communion Records on Tuesday 29th April at The Social in London, get your tickets here: http://www.communionmusic.co.uk/live/events/29-apr-14-layla-the-social/ Check out more of Layla's stuff here: https://www.facebook.com/listentolayla https://soundcloud.com/listentolayla https://www.twitter.com/listentolayla

Soaring to New Heights
Years ago, I fell in love with the music of a YouTube artist named Kate McGill. Kate had my friends and I obsessed with her Paramore covers like "The Only Exception " (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Efd5tGByxqc). She even released an album entitled Replaced (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AHHdSDfSgP8), which I have and love. After the album release, Kate began to gain some buzz, but decided to leave her solo career behind and pursue music with a band. This band is this week's featured band, Meadowlark.
Kate, along with fellow members Daniel Broadley and Carl Jones, have been touring the UK spreading the word on their new acoustic-folk band. The first song they have shared with the masses is "Family Tree" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N9FXfjbhRuI). The corridor session of this song is so great. Kate's voice is as pure as ever and the instrumentals on this song are perfection.
One of my favorite songs by Meadowlark is "Forlorn" (https://soundcloud.com/meadowlarkofficial/forlorn). It is simply amazing! In November, Meadowlark will be playing some shows in the UK with Gabrielle Aplin, Lewis Watson, and Stornoway. Check out those dates here: https://www.facebook.com/meadowlarkofficial
This is one talented band and I can't wait to hear what they have in store for the future!

Reposting as mentioned by Cosmo on facebook (clips taken from a music video, edited with cinematic soundtrack by Dan Broadley). Really suggest looking up Dan Broadley's stuff, but yeah, enjoy =)
