Max hadn’t been into work for two days after him and Daniel had been locked in the building. He had a lot of sick time saved up, so he had used it and had given the reason of a family emergency. Which, was true. Mikael had come back into their lives. His father. It was absolute shit timing, because he didn’t want Daniel to think he was avoiding him. He really liked Daniel. When Monday rolled back around, he came into the building and walked straight into Daniel’s office, shutting the door behind him. “Good morning, Daniel. I’m really sorry that I had to leave. If you only knew what the past two days have been like at my house... It’s been absolute chaos.”

Emira smirked as she walked in with her arm wrapped around Daniel's as eyes were already on them. She figured Axel was here with Sloane looking at her with Daniel as well which made her feel even more powerful. "It looks amazing in here," she said, looking at all of the gorgeous decorations along with the gorgeous people as well. Everyone looked incredible. Turning to Daniel, she smiled up at him. "I'm glad you're here with me, handsome. We're going to have a lot of fun tonight, I can feel it," she said with a soft chuckle.

When Emira was still modeling, she had traveled all around the world and spent time in many places, one being Los Angeles. That's where she met Daniel for the first time and they quickly hit it off. First it was a kiss on the cheek and then a real kiss on the lips after they went on a date. The two haven't seen each other since then and when Emira moved here to Aurora Bay, she saw Daniel again and they got caught up.

Emira wanted to see Daniel again and get caught up with him again so she made her way to the music shop and grinned as she walked in to see his handsome self. "Hey handsome," she greeted and walked up to him. "How are you today?"

Even though Emira knew that the upcoming storm was going to be bad, she still went outside and ran her errands. The storm hit when she was making her way back home and found herself running into the local music shop, Tidal Wave. The lights were already out, she had no cell service and her heart was starting to race thinking about her new home right on the water of Aurora Bay Drive. Axel. She needed to call Axel…but she couldn’t. On the verge of breaking down, she backed herself up against what she thought was a wall but instead was another person's back. “Oh shit, I’m sorry,” she quickly said, turning around to meet a man’s gaze. “I…I’m sorry,” she repeated, fear in her eyes, not knowing what to do or say in this moment.

Max took in a deep breath and opened the door to the house with the key. Since he was in college on an omega scholarship, they gave him a full ride and his own house on Greek Row. Since now, the college could boast that they had an omega on campus. Technically, he was in a fraternity now without even having to pledge. It was the house where omegas were housed so that they were safe. He sighed and shut the door, thankful that the movers had already come and gone with his stuff so all he needed to do was unpack. His phone alarm went off and he set his pills down on the coffee table. This place needed some dusting. Bad. He’d get to it tonight. It had been over six years since the college had an omega, so the place still had white sheets covering the furniture. As soon as he took one step towards the kitchen for a glass of water, he heard the doorbell ring.  He sighed, thinking maybe it’d be a welcoming committee from the college but he was surprised to see just one lone Alpha standing on the porch. “Can I help you?”

Max yelped as he was shoved out onto the stage, faceplanting onto the hard wood. Yells and cheers erupted from the crowd as he looked up, but Max couldn’t hear them. The auctioner explained that he was deaf, and Max saw everyone’s faces shifted to disinterest. If he didn’t get sold today... he’d get beaten again. Maybe even just put down. Such was the life of a slave nowadays. He looked up, eyes searching the crowd for someone’s hand to raise. Someone to take an interest.
