Daniel Mauser traveled to many places during his life. Tom Mauser says that when their family visited Glenwood Springs, CO, his son enjoyed playing mini golf and swimming in the local hot springs pool. They went to several other towns in Colorado: Estes Park, Buena Vista, Trinidad, Ouray, Durango, Vail, Marble, Breckenridge.
A month before the shooting, Daniel had taken a trip to France with his French class He was there for two weeks and enjoyed getting to live with a French family for a portion of their trip.
Daniel liked to go skiing and biking. After an accident with a snowboarder, he broke an arm.
The Mauser family spent a lot of time hiking in Roxborough State Park. By summer 1999, Tom was hoping that Daniel would be able to go on his first 14,000 foot mountain hike with him.
Other destinations Daniel went to: Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, New York City, Miami, Boston, Niagara Falls, Mt. Rushmore, Disney World.
