If you watch any blacksmithing videos on youtube, you’ve undoubtedly seen Daniel Moss’ channel. If you haven’t, you should definitely check him out.
In several of his videos, he’s made mention of these brushes that he sells. Unlike standard butcher block brushes, these are heavily reinforced -- a design from one of the instructors at the Hereford Blacksmithing School in England. Basically, these aren’t butcher block brushes anymore. They’re blacksmithing brushes designed specifically for the rigors of life in the smithy. Daniel claims to get better than five years of service out of one of these brushes, about five times longer than I’ve been able to get a regular brush to last.
Some will complain that these brushes are too expensive, but factor in the cost-per-year and it’s actually less expensive than using the cheaper versions. It’s a good design and definitely good quality overall, so I’m very happy to help support some other blacksmiths.
