She had never been one for diplomacy, and yet the coven had insisted that Maya be the one to go and find out who had dared to cross into their territory. The signs had not been hard to miss - the body count was a pretty fair indicator at least.
The lack of mess indicated vampire, not werewolf - Maya wasn't sure which one was worse precisely, but she was not looking forwards to the encounter. She crossed the park, the grass making her shoes wet as she plonked herself on a bench, waiting for the stranger in the dark. A woman alone at night would be a tempting snack. At least, that was the theory that the coven leader had come up with. Maya had not been so keen on the idea herself.
