Description from the gallery's web site."The Three Witches from Macbeth (Elizabeth Lamb, Viscountess Melbourne; Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire; Anne Seymour Damer)" by Daniel Gardner, 1775, @nationalportraitgallery #nationalportraitgallery "Depicted here as the three witches from Macbeth, all three of these women loved amateur dramatics and were involved in productions at the private theatre at Althorp, Georgiana's country estate. Whereas Lady Melbourne had been friends with Anne Seymour Damer since the early 1770s, the friendship with Georgiana was fairly recent and this pastel may in part be related to Melbourne's desire to publicize it. Their portrayal as Macbeth's witches also hints at their political influence, as the witches in the play encourage Macbeth to seize power. From 1776, Georgiana was the hostess of the most influential political salon in England and these three women were keen supporters of Charles James Fox, who was probably Georgiana's lover. Daniel Gardner - Under The Shower Tower (Thinner, 2008)

Zurück aus dem Wochenende, zurück zur Musik. Daniel Gardner hier mit dem einzigen Track, den er unter seinem richtigen Namen und nicht unter seinem Alias Frivolous veröffentlicht hat. Das muss schon was heißen. Und so haut er auch gleich richtig einen raus. Wunderschöner Deep-House-Track, der auch von Lawrence hätte kommen können. Sehr detailliert, kleinteilig und verspielt, hier gibt es einiges zu entdecken. Das beginnt schon beim Einstieg und zieht sich über die perkussiven Beats zu den verspulten Vocals. Die Zeile “Never have I been so dirty, never have I felt so clean” ist hierbei als genial herauszustellen. Lange Flächen kündigen dann zauberhafteste Melodien an. Erst ab der Mitte hat sich das ganze dann endgültig zu einem tollen Klangspiel entfalten. Die Streicher in der Mitte sind der Killer. Kann man nicht oft genug hören. PS: für das Youtube-Videobildchen kann ich nun wirklich nichts.
