I was tired and I was still a little biting mad, but for some reason instead of breaking his jaw I let him do it.

Child of Persephone Cassi! Here at last, I come forth bearing my humble offerings!
Hi, you got me again :3 This time, there’s no hesitation at what I want to do--as soon as I saw your prompt, I knew I wanted to recreate some of my favorite RookThom scenes on the book. Now they’re here!!!
To me, this is a small but big moments for Rook, ‘coz he allowed himself some kindness (to Thom and to himself) because like every man who’s of flesh and blood, his deepdeepdeep down subconsciousness sought for that mutual warmth and tenderness from another human being.
2nd Part
I couldn’t help my starved gratitude from showing plainly on my face; as soon as Rook saw it his mouth curled down at the corners and he looked sharply away.
(Thom being self-depreciating)

Hiya! This is the second part of your gift from me! Still RookThom though lol sorry.
This one maybe not quite exactly how it was described on the book, but the image of them lounging on the couch burned in my mind. This is after Rook and Thom have spent time together as temporary allies, arguing and negotiating against the Esar, and there were still significant amount of camaraderie around them and things felt a hell lot lighter (in terms of their relationship with each other). And then of course, things got intense again, whats with their soul-piercing gazes and almost-kiss a few moments later.
Teehee.
Happy new year! I hope you like it :D
1st Part
I love that Master of One let’s you know exactly what it’s about in the prologue and I absolutely did not read it.
I like Jaida Jones and Danielle Bennet’s work in general and was looking forward to Master of One, but when it opened with a scene of bloody slaughter of an entire household and torture of the POV character, I knew that it was just not a book I could handle reading. And, despite my desperate desire to know every story, I’m trying to be ok with some books just not being for me.
It’s better than when I pick up a book that starts out silly and cartoony and then transitions into child maiming halfway through. Yes, I am referencing a specific book that I read last year.
"So," Rook said, "where're we going?"
I closed my eyes and let the sunlight wash over me, "I've always wanted to see the hanging gardens of Eklesias"
Rook stood up and shifted his sack more comfortably over his right shoulder.
"I don't even know where the fuck that is"
-Havemercy by Jaida Jones and Danielle Bennett
"Learn some manners you rude little fucker."
-Havemercy
Steelhands just blew my mind. These are some of the best God damn writers...
