Music | Interview: Oh Honey You might recognise the sound of Oh Honey rom the current Dairygold television advert, as folk-pop track ‘Take All The Time You Need’ accompanies heart warming images but without the lovingly reminiscent lyrics of Mitchy Collins and Danielle Bouchard.
when I met Mitchy Collins and Dani Bouchard (Oh Honey) last year! they're both really nice and they sometimes talk to me on Twitter. check their music out!
MUSIC VIDEO REVIEW: Oh Honey “Healing”
Oh Honey is exactly what you would expect from a duo that identifies themselves as “indie/folk/pop”. While their “Healing” single didn’t necessarily demonstrate any folk qualities, you can actually hear the potential in both Mitchy Collins and Danielle Bouchard’s voices. They’re so adaptable that they could probably sing any genre they wanted.
The single itself is catchy - it begins very laid-back, with Collins’ voice gently easing you in. The song picks up during the chorus with synthesizers and pop elements, and you’ll easily find yourself dancing. “I am spinning around the ceiling / When I’m with you I am healing.” The entire song revolves around this idea that “someone” has come into the singer’s life and is helping them get over past hurts.
You assume that this “someone” is actually human, right?
The music video features a man, evidently moving into an apartment, and he meets a stray dog. After trying to shoo the animal away, the man hesitantly lets the dog in. For the rest of the video, the man befriends and eventually grows to love the dog; it features snippets of their shenanigans and the potential for romantic love at the end.
(PS - not between man and dog.)
“Healing” is a fun song that expresses a positive, hopeful message, with a video that features cute animals and people. How can you go wrong?

Oh Honey: To those who’ve never heard of this raand before, don’t worry. You will soon. The band is a singer songwriter duo from New York. Although fairly new in the industry and only three EPs on the market, their popularity has soared from touring with bands like The Kin, American Authors, and the Mowgli’s and, of course, from their fast…
