The court hearing was set for later in the day, which made the Wolfes concerned that the judge will be too tired to think properly, but Tara told them not to worry - evening hearings weren’t too uncommon around here.
As everyone is filling in, they chat about what to expect.
Milena: Tara said Calahan is very reasonable. I’m not sure if “reasonable” is a good thing here. Besides, she’s a woman - you know how he is. Marcel isn’t the most respectful in that aspect.
Marwick: No shit. That’s kind of why we’re here, isn’t it?
Danielle: I did some research on her. If Marcel’s rude to her, that’ll be his grave. Well, not literally, but you know what I mean. Apparently, she’s got a long track record of doling out big sentences to those accused for domestic violence.
Milena: If I know Marcel, his lawyer will be as big of a weasel as he himself is....
Sheree: Actually, about that - I’ve heard along the grapevine that there’s been some strife between him and his lawyers.
Miles: What? Why? They are supposed to help him. Making enemies with them seems pretty dumb.
Sheree: I don’t know if I understood everything right, but apparently, he’s been ignoring their advice and doing whatever he pleased. They got him out on bail, but instead of sitting in his hotel quietly, he’s been increasingly belligerent with everyone around, so they’re practically shepherding him now, to make sure he doesn’t violate any more laws. At least, that’s what Wayne told me.
Milena: I wish I could say that isn’t normal behavior for him. He doesn’t like being told what to do.
