And shout out to the time I caught these two having ice cream for breakfast.

Sim in One Color Challenge by @lera5cat4
Thank you for the tag, @ninjaofthepurplethings!
Rules: Use a randomizer to get your color and dress your sim in that color.
This was the color I got:
Piper bet him he wouldn’t have the guts to perform karaoke in front of a crowd while wearing hot pink. And Marwick isn’t one to pass up a challenge...

As they are about to leave, something catches Piper’s attention.
- Hey, I think you dropped your ring.
She bends down and picks it up - a pretty flower-shaped cocktail ring with either real or artificial rubies.
Sheree: Um, it’s not mine. Miles, did you get me this ring?
Miles: No, it’s not in your style at all. Besides, it looks to be too big for you.
Sheree: It is, at least a size too big.
Piper is quickly starting to feel awkward.
- Huh, I wonder how it got here, then. Maybe one of your other guests dropped it?
Sheree: You two are the first guests we’ve had…
Reflexively, three pairs of eyes shoot Miles a quick glance.
Miles:… weird, huh.
Marwick: I’m sure there’s a logical explanation for how it ended up here.
He’s well aware of his friend’s little problem, but he’s sure Miles’s kleptomania isn’t rearing up that early on.
Piper: Maybe one of the movers dropped it here?
Sheree: Yeah, maybe.
She doesn’t miss the hint of something fleeting in her husband’s eyes.
- Man, I feel kind of bad mentioning it, now.
Piper admits immediately as they exit.
Marwick: I’m sure it’s not a big deal. Maybe the former owners left it there?
Piper: I thought they said the house was new?
Marwick: Oh, right... still, it’s probably not a big deal.
Piper: You don’t think he...
Marwick: He didn’t steal it. I’m sure of it.
Piper: I was going to say there might’ve been another woman in the house... but I don’t really see Miles as the cheating type, so that’s kind of crazy.
Marwick: Not Miles, he wouldn’t. You see how he adores her.
Piper: True. I guess we’ll find out where it came from someday.
Outside, the other couple was discussing their housewarming gift for the Vidas.
Marwick: Do you think it’s enough? I mean, we’re friends and family, shouldn’t we bring something bigger?
Piper: Relax. It’s the cold season - hot beverages are very needed and a coffee machine would be very welcome. Personal experience. Oh, hi Miles! What’s up?”
- Come in, you two. Well, this is our humble abode.
Piper: I like it, it’s cute here. And I’m definitely seeing some Eastern influences in the decor.
Miles, chuckling: And we haven’t even finished unpacking everything!
Sheree: Hi, come on it, make yourselves comfortable. And we apologize ahead of time about the cold.
Marwick: I wasn’t going to say anything, but now that you mention it, it is drafty in here. I thought they built houses to keep in more heat in the cold months these days.
Sheree: So did we. It’s alright though, nothing some heating can’t handle.
Piper: By the way, we brought you guys a coffee machine. And some coffee to go with it.
Miles: That’s good, we won’t have to buy one now! So, what have you two been up to? You’ve moved into that house by the beach?
Marwick: Yep. The pro - it’s close to the beach. The con - it’s right next to that beach bar.
Sheree: Why is that a con?
Piper: Did you know they sell really good wings? And they’re not even expensive? We’ve been getting them a little too frequently. Food coma is a thing.
Miles: Ha! That’s the best kind of con to have, amirite?
After spending more time catching up, Sheree sets up and tries out the new coffee machine, while Miles shows the others the house.
Piper, after properly observing the building: Not bad, I can definitely see this being a good place to raise the little one. How are you feeling, by the way?
Sheree: Much better. I guess I’m over the adjustment period.
Marwick: Have you felt any kicks yet?
Piper: It should be a bit early, no?
Miles: I think I did.
Sheree: You’re imagining it. I haven’t yet.
Miles: I wonder if they’ll like sports.
Sheree: Not if they have my coordination, dear.
Miles: Oh, don’t undersell yourself. You’re great and your coordination is fine.
Piper and Marwick exchange a knowing look - their cousin and friend are definitely very much in that honeymoon phase, still. Perhaps they should give the young couple some space?
Just at that moment, Miles’s phone rings.
- Yes! Oh, hi George. Yeah, I can be there for our training sesh a little early. *hangs up* That was from the gym. I guess I should go soon.
Piper: Actually, we should probably go too. I have work in an hour and Marw’s meeting a painting buyer.
Fin.
