WENTWORTH WITHOUT BEA
WENTWORTH SEASON FIVE: THE FALL OF A TV SERIES AND ASTONISHMENT OF THE FANS
Wentworth is my favourite tv show.
At least it was till season four. My heart kept struggling to decide which tv show between the one about the Australian prison and Game of Thrones I prefered the most. The war to decide which of them was better was difficult, no (mental) shots excluded.
I’m using the past tense because the current season five is boring me, it makes annoyed me and speechless (and I don’t mean it in a good way). Since I’m one of the Italian group wentworth_ita_inmates admins, I can say that a lot of fans agree with what I’m about to say.
But first, let’s focus on the characters, one by one.
Seasons four ended with Bea Smith’s death and Ferguson’s return in jail.
Now, my dear writers, how the hell can you make us believe that the Freak managed to become the new top dog without being killed?
Also, I sadly see that all the psychological analyses of the characters are missing, togheter with the human side that the Governor has showed, the suspense and the excitement we used to see in her eyes when she fenced with her father’s ghost
Where did the real Joan go?
Has she definitely turned to a monster with no feelings?
Where did her revenge for her loved Jianna go?
I think that Allie is that another character that’s getting worse, she’s too weak and not so detemined to take revenge. She probably has a plan but compared to the Bea Smith that we saw in season two, she looks like a 12-years-old angry girl. Also, does she really think she can screw with the Freak-ninja just by giving her the dessert? I don’t think so… Why Maxine? She should’ve stayed with Boomer, she was the only top dog who deserved this spot, the only one who would eventually bring justice to Wentworth. Wasn’t Bea Smith’s death enough for you? Why did you also do this to us?
Let’s talk about Franky. Like, did she seriously end back in prison? The feeling of emptiness caused by Bea’ death cannot be filled. I’d rather see more new characters than watch Fridget love story falling apart. Doctor Westfall is one of the few good things left in that prison and in season five plot. She’s adorable, sexy and brave. Anyway, that’s not enough to catch fans interest. Also because she is not in every scene so..!
Liz, poor Liz, she’s a sucker, as much as Vera. You should have developed Sonia’s character more before the end of season four, because she could have easily replaced Freak’s spot, the very same Freak that now acts just like she is in a splatter/sci-fy movie.
Where is the cruel reality of Wentworth? Where is Bea Smith? If you ask me, she’s still alive pretending to be someone else, and I think this explanation could be more reasonable than all this season five mess.
Let’s honor the whole cast that, despite the boring script, is putting a lot of effort and is using all of its skills to make us like this season.
P.s.: Kaz and Will I ship you a lot.
Give us the real Wentworth.
