OT: How has Baltimore affected the music you make?
I Guess Subconsciously It's Effected Me Just Through Slang I Use & How I Talk , I Notice That After Goin Back & Listenin to Old Stuff . But Consciously My Music Is A Representation of My Life Living In Baltimore but From My Own Point of View . People Even Look to Me When Political Happenings Occur Here & It Gives Me More of A Responsibility to Speak on Things Because I'm Really In The Streets With The People Pickingup The Truth .
OT: I've told you before, but I think Kemet Dank is super cool alias, tell us how you came up with it and if you had or have any other nicknames? Also are you just going by Dank God now or both?
Well , Kemet is My Name , & Dank Just Came From Smoking . I Also Go By Dank God but that Didnt Start Till Around 2011 , There've Been Alot of Other So-Called's Tryng To Take the Name Both Locally & Internationally but I Always Fight For Myself & The People Have My Back . There's Only 1 Dank God , I've Done Too Much For The World & The People So Far , It's All Love , but It's Definitely Respect Aswell .
OT: How old were you when you started rapping?
I Started Rapping & Recoding Around 10 , I Used to Record Onna Lil Memo Recorder Thing n Play Beats n The Background When I Freestyled . I Burned A Few of Those to CD When I Was In Middle School & Gave em Out , It was Cool . I Always Wanted to Do This Though So It's a Blessing to Be Where I Am Now Honestly .
OT: You have a slew of releases on bandcamp, what has been your most successful single and mixtape thus far?
Ummm , Honestly I'd Say Dank God 2 Mixtape on Spinrilla Has Been My Biggest Mixtape . I Had Hella Shit on Datpiff From Like 2011-2013 but They Deleted My Account Like 2yrs Ago , I Was Mad Then but Im Not Trippin Now . Shoutout HotNewHipHop , Spinrilla , & LiveMixtapes Though , They still Got Love For The Kid . My Biggest Song is Probably Thot Gang Though , It Came Out About 3years Ago and People Still Hit Me Till This Day Like It's New , & New People Still Find It So That Track is Definitely a Blessing Aswell .
