“NADA DURA PARASIEMPRE / NOTHING LASTS FOREVER”
By Pável Acevedo, Fritz Aragon, and Dan Nguyen
60 miles east of Los Angeles, Riverside sits beside the Santa Ana River—the largest city in the Inland Empire and birthplace of the California citrus industry. In 1895 Riverside had the highest per capita income in the U.S. and with its boom came a vibrant arts community which continues to thrive to this day. In 2016 Urge Palette Art Supplies owner Fritz Aragon (left portion of the wall) joined creative director and music producer Dan Nguyen, aka DemonSlayer (center of wall), and Pavel Acevedo to create this wall at 13th and Main in downtown Riverside. Born in Oaxaca, Mexico, Acevedo was fascinated by the anatomical drawings in his doctor / father’s medical books and now living in Riverside he’s still developing his artistic language but says his art “is his method of expressing what he is going through”— in this case he says it’s about “being an immigrant and not feeling sure how long you’re going to stay in one place.” @pavel_acevedo @urgepalette @demonslayer__ @riversideartscouncil
