Country roads, Noah's home.
Back in the Drillhead Mountains, the southern raised possum was laying back, finally assured that the city life was far behind her. Sure it was great to go adventuring with her friends, but she'd be lying if she didn't felt homesick already.
The Mountains was the perfect spot for her to watch the sunset after she had tended fo the chores, cooked some food, went bull riding with her dad and ate some ice cream. Usually nothing would have interrupted her thoughts when she wants to see the sun go down but something about today just don't feel right about.
Like she was missing something.
The sound snapped her out of her thoughts and she looked around. "He-hello? Anyone here?"
She decided to walk closer to the sound of the voice. "If this is some sorta joke, ya'll best quit yer comedian routine! It's mighty rude to interrupt someone on their private times, ya know?"
"N-noah..." the voice was definitely getting closer, and more familiar. If she had knew someone who definitely sucked at stamina, that would involve a certain blue pup to it.
"Danny?!" She ran to him and immediately pulled him from a cliffhanger. She didn't know whether to be impressed, angry or laugh at his efforts to get her. "What are yer doin, ya silly ol city slicker? Are ya tryin to fall to yer death?! Yer lucky ahm around to spot yer voice, or yer gonna be a goner!"
Danny muttered a small laugh. "Well, I know Drillhead Mountains is a dangerous place for untrained climbers but, first time for everything you know?"
That statement was met with a grin and Noah shaking her head. "Ah mean, can't ya invent one of them doo-hickeytism mechanisms that can get ya'll here safely? Yer a genius ain't cha?"
"But that would be cheating, and this Hazard is an honest pup."
"More like, feeding yer ego."
"I'll take that as a compliment, now then.." he tried to get up but got scooped up like a bride.
"Nuh uh, don't try ta play the hero here, city slicker. Ah'm taking ya home and that's final, for yer efforts at least. So don't you worry none."
It was a long way down, but with the way Noah jogs it felt like minutes before they reached there. Danny got to rejuvanate with some food and rest, before they got to the backyard to burn some marshmellows under the stars at night.
"So tell me, what dreams are yer having to come all the way to see lil ol' me?"
"Is it not that obvious?"
"Boy, i ain't a mind reader, so spill."
Now she was not one to blush, but this was an exception. "M-me? Why me?"
"Well..after all the adventures we had have, I can't say I can go back to a normal life, I mean, not after what we have been through."
"Y-yeah. It's been killing me for days now but, this friendship that we had. It's more than that to me. I know youbmay not think much of yourself but I do! Nobody is as tough as you, and not just in combat situations. You lost someone you held dear and yet you continue on, though it might hurt. Every part of your struggles is what makes me think you are beautiful, and though you may not have much, you make do with it the best that you can."
"So what I am saying is, Noah Possum, is that I love you, and I don't want to miss any adventure with you."
Tears were filling her eyes, which she quickly wiped and grabbed him for a kiss. "Ya silly Hazard, truthfully ya aint bad yerself. Only twenty and already hitting them big universities! Ah love ya too, for ya dorky self and your big heart."
The two just embraced each other with a hug. "So...does this mean you would tell your dad to go easy on his future son in law."
"Hah! Ya wish, city boy! Im im love with ya, not in a spell!"
(An early birthday gift to my dear friend @blumoontoons who has the same birthday as i do! So here you go compadre!)
