“COLOR STRANDS”
Danny De Jong
“Colors run in your DNA that can pour out of your hair strands . . .” Danny “optek 19” De Jong began his journey to art in the city streets, heavily influenced by the graffiti culture. “Graffiti art is a powerful medium that can be used to unleash creative expression, energizes environments, galvanizes the viewer and unites communities” he says. He and and his Fort Worth company, Aerosol Gorillas, use aerosol for everything from commercial murals to private commissions and since 2001 have done work for the likes of Pepsi, Dodge, Smirnoff, Mark Cuban, and a host of others. This piece was done for the 42 Murals project in Deep Ellum, Texas. @aerosolgorillas @42murals
