I think Rei is very complicated. And also Dante is very complicated. Hell, they both have a zillion pounds of baggage - and Rei is SO much older and more experienced than Dante.
So I think the two of them would be anything but romantic. Rei would use Dante like a cougar using a college gym rat, at least at first. And it would be unhealthy because Dante is actually down for a little more intimacy than Rei's got on offer, and Rei would have zero interest in indulging Dante's clueless ploys for hugs and kisses...
But I could see them coming to rely on each other. Maybe there's political motivation on both their parts, and Dante needs intel from Rei. Or maybe Rei needs to hide, and Solaria's a safe place for that.
.... EITHER WAY I am confident that Rei has ridden Dante's horse cock at least once and probably made Dante cry about it after with the force of his clench. "A hair trigger, Sun Lord? How embarrassing."
