The biggest influence on me as a musician is my friend Daniel Guttierez (http://filbertsmodernlife.tumblr.com). He was in a couple great local bands before making his side project, Filbert, a full time thing. hey manna! was the best one he was in outside of Filbert. Their music and their shows were what gave me the biggest push into deciding to become a musician. They would dress up in these crappy (amazing) looking costumes and sing about the weirdest stuff. At the time, it totally blew my mind and pushed all my boundaries on music and art. Unfortunately, they didn't record much. Their best songs are lost to the sands of time, but a couple great ones got recorded. I'll never be able to thank him and the rest of the band enough. I'm lucky to still call them friends.
