i’m absolutely loving “the shadows that sing so far”. every time you update it’s like the highlight of my week. i was wondering where you get your inspiration from? your ideas are so creative, i love everything you do <3 also wondering how many chapters you have planned for the series? not that i want it to end, but i am curious if we are nearing the end or if there is a lot more that is going to happen.

I draw my inspiration from a lot of different avenues - there are certain songs that I base scenes around (for example..."Clean" by Taylor Swift is kind of my Elain theme song and there's a specific scene with her and Vassa coming up that I've written whilst listening to that song the entire time).
For descriptions of physical places, I often look on Pinterest to get a more visual idea of what I'm imagining in my head, and then I'll use the picture to really paint a picture of the place I'm envisioning.
I research the mythology that SJM bases many of her villains off of - Koschei is actually a very prominent antagonist in Russian folklore - and then formed the main points of the plot of TSTS accordingly.
But mostly, my plot ideas just come from what I personally want to see happen in the next story or situations that I just find really fun to write haha. I wanted Azriel and Elain's relationship to be secretive/sneaking around because I think that's hot as hell (and also, given the forbidden nature of the relationship, I feel like it has to be that way in the next book, too). But like, Elain's whole friendship with Vassa came along because I just wanted them to be friends, ha - though of course, at this point in the story, their friendship and Elain coming to the mortal manor has heavy significance to the plot as well.
No idea how many chapters there will be, but I'd estimate that the story is about 2/3 finished - so still a decent amount left! Thanks for the ask and thank you for reading the story ♥️
